Sex differences in food choices, adherence to dietary recommendations and plasma lipid profile in type 2 diabetes

Background and aims Diabetic women have a more adverse plasma lipid profile than men. Sex differences in dietary habits may play a role, but are little investigated. The study evaluates the quality of diet, adherence to the nutritional recommendations of the Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group and their relation with plasma lipid in men and women with diabetes. Methods and results We studied 2573 people, aged 50–75, enrolled in the TOSCA.IT study (clinicaltrials.gov; NCT00700856). Plasma lipids were measured centrally. Tämän pro gradu –tutkielman tarkoitus oli selvittää, millaisia ravintoon ja fyysiseen harjoitteluun liittyviä teemoja hyvinvointiblogeista nousee esille ja minkälaisia blogin kirjoittajien eli bloggaajien antamat ohjeet ravinnosta ja harjoittelusta ovat suhteessa tämänhetkisiin suosituksiin ja kirjallisuuteen. Tutkimuksen aineisto koostui kolmen suositun bloggaajan kirjoittamista blogiteksteistä kuukauden ajalta (syyskuu 2015). During the last two decades there have been growing interests on recommendations for children’s physical activity. The World Health Organization (WHO) launched the first global international recommendations for children in 2010, focusing on children and youth aged 5-17-year olds. The recommendations were based on the dose-response relationship between the frequency, duration, intensity, type and amount of physical activity needed for prevention of non-communicable diseases. Based on consumers' preferences, AI (artificial intelligence) recommendation automatically filters information, which provokes scholars' debate. Supporters believe that by analyzing the consumers' preferences, AI recommendation enables consumers to choose products more quickly and with lower cost. Critics deem that consumers are more easily trapped in information cocoons because of the use of AI recommendation. This reduces the possibility of consumers contacting with a variety of commodities, thus lowering the consumer decision quality.
