Bifactor analysis and construct validity of the five facet mindfulness questionnaire (FFMQ) in non-clinical Spanish samples

The objective of the present study was to examine the dimensionality, reliability, and construct validity of the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) in three Spanish samples using structural equation modeling (SEM). Pooling the FFMQ data from 3 Spanish samples (n = 1191), we estimated the fit of two competing models (correlated five-factor vs. bifactor) via confirmatory factor analysis. The factorial invariance of the best fitting model across meditative practice was also addressed. Ethnic residential segregation in Italy is an emerging key question, which will be crucial in the definition and implementation of both urbanistic and social policies. This paper focuses on this phenomenon in the Italian city of Palermo. We use individual data for all the population residing in the city at 31 December 2011, organized by ethnicity and district. Firstly, we describe the spatial distribution and the residential segregation of foreigners in the city, applying many different segregation measures. Autorka uzasadnia, iż kształtowanie umiejętności samokontroli jest zbieżne z celami wychowania resocjalizującego i dlatego nie można pomijać w oddziaływaniach resocjalizacyjnych wzmacniania samokontroli u wychowanków. Ponadto autorka wykorzystuje badania nad mechanizmami samokontroli do opracowania wskazówek metodycznych do pracy resocjalizacyjnej.

Abstract Introduction The aim of the study was to compare the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy interventions for insomnia (CBT-I) to that of a sleep hygiene intervention in a randomized controlled design among shift workers. We also studied whether the features of shift work disorder (SWD) affected the results. Methods A total of 83 shift workers with insomnia disorder were partially randomized into a group-based CBT-I, self-help CBT-I, or sleep hygiene control intervention. The purpose of the paper is to specify the nature of the seasonal behaviors of tourist stay demand in Tunisia by using recent tools of monthly time series analysis. The available series (tourist expenditures, prices, guest nights, reception capacities,...) are analyzed with the classical theory of demand and the theory of supply induced demand. Empirical results show that these series are generated by non stationary processes which seasonality is stochastic and deterministic.
