This article examines the evolution of social relations in the Italian steel mill at Cornigliano, near Genoa, during the 1950s. Built with funding from the Marshall Plan, the mill was the subject of a number of initiatives aimed at establishing a system of industrial relations based on the contractual and consensual ‘American model’. The transfer of industrial equipment and management tools was used by American authorities to put pressure on Italian players to accept the imported model. Productive and extractive districts in a state of neglect are in dire need of regeneration, especially brownfields that are in rur-urban sites and could disfigure the landscape. These elements should be considered as resources to define a new territorial value. The present paper shows an empirical example of brownfield re-cycle that produce social innovation in rur-urban sites, this case study is the Añana salt valley and it is situated in Spain. Brownfields, in fact, are catalysts of social, economic, cultural, and ecological revitalization. Tax benefits for the energy requalification of Italian real estate assets

The need for energy-efficient buildings has emerged since the onset of the first energy crises in the 1970s. It's in this decade that the concepts of sustainable development and energy saving have been introduced in the construction sector. Currently, the greatest energy saving potential for buildings does not lie in new buildings, but in the energy redevelopment of existing buildings. In order to promote interventions for building restoration, which are often costly and not economically convenient, Italian legislation has made a series of economic incentives available to the sector. This work reviews the main incentive systems for the energy requalification of buildings.
