Calculation of excitation energies from the CC2 linear response theory using Cholesky decomposition
2014
A new implementation of the approximate coupled cluster singles and doubles CC2 linear response model is reported. It employs a Cholesky decomposition of the two-electron integrals that significantly reduces the computational cost and the storage requirements of the method compared to standard implementations. Our algorithm also exploits a partitioning form of the CC2 equations which reduces the dimension of the problem and avoids the storage of doubles amplitudes. We present calculation of excitation energies of benzene using a hierarchy of basis sets and compare the results with conventional CC2 calculations. The reduction of the scaling is evaluated as well as the effect of the Cholesky …
Does a crisis increase the number of regular exporters?
2019
ABSTRACTThe severe reduction in domestic demand between 2008 and 2013 in Spain led many firms to start exporting. We explore whether the increase in the new crisis-induced exporters led to a larger...
Impact of the environmental taxes on reduction of emission from transport in Latvia
2021
Transport has a significant contribution to climate change and many post-Soviet republics, including Latvia, struggle to decrease these emissions to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. In this paper, ...
Study on New Product Development, by Networking
2015
The paper presents a situation of working in network in order to design or improve a new product. To implement theoretical models and to validate a working algorithm into a virtual research, there was proposed a specific theme from drilling and chamfering tool. The facilities offered by the research centers – database, software - led to rapid selection and configuration solutions, demonstrating achieving research productivity growth and a substantial reduction of times redesign.
Influence of Geometrical Parameters, Wall Angle and Part Shape on Thickness Reduction of Single Point Incremental Forming
2014
Abstract The aim of this paper is to study the thickness reduction during the whole single point incremental forming process. The experimental setup is realized in such a way that the blank sheet is in the vertical position and forming is done using an anthropomorphic robot with six degrees of freedom. The vertical positioning of the blank sheet allows the on-line visualization using an optical measuring system of the major and minor strains and of the thickness reduction. The wall angle varied between values of 45 0 , 55 0 and 65 0 respectively. The logarithmic major strain and minor strains and logarithmic thickness reduction were analyzed in order to allow a comparison with values obtain…
On the intrinsic complexity of learning
1995
A new view of learning is presented. The basis of this view is a natural notion of reduction. We prove completeness and relative difficulty results. An infinite hierarchy of intrinsically more and more difficult to learn concepts is presented. Our results indicate that the complexity notion captured by our new notion of reduction differs dramatically from the traditional studies of the complexity of the algorithms performing learning tasks.
Guaranteed access mode for downlink traffic over IEEE 802.11 WLANs
2011
IEEE 802.11 networks present an unfairness problem between the downlink and uplink traffic, using the default settings of the Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA). In order to reduce this unfairness, the Access Point (AP) can adapt the standard parameters, but this is not enough. In this paper, we propose simple and efficient solutions, which are implemented at the AP, thus they are standard compatible and no modifications to the current hardware and protocol stacks are needed. These solutions aim at providing guaranteed access to the downlink traffic when the AP perceives the unfairness problem. Our simulation results show a reduction in the unfairness and an enhancement in network p…
