Four conditions of oxidoreduction potential (Eh7), +433 mV (milk gassed with air), +405 mV (ungassed milk), +283 mV (milk gassed with N2) and −349 mV (milk gassed with N2–H2) were applied to milk. Variable selection is fundamental in high-dimensional statistical modeling. Many techniques to select relevant variables in generalized linear models are based on a penalized likelihood approach. In a recent paper, Fan and Lv (2008) proposed a sure independent screening (SIS) method to select relevant variables in a linear regression model defined on a ultrahigh dimensional feature space. Aim of this paper is to define a generalization of the SIS method for generalized linear models based on a differential geometric approach.

Abstract We consider a continuous time linear multi–inventory system with unknown demands bounded within ellipsoids and controls bounded within polytopes. We address the problem of ∈-stabilizing the inventory since this implies some reduction of the inventory costs. The main results are certain conditions under which ∈-stabilizability is possible through a saturated linear state feedback control.
