Análisis conjunto y espacios naturales: una aplicación al Paraje Natural del Desert de les Palmes

2007

We use stated preference methods to analyze consumer preferences on the attributes of protected natural areas and to estimate the willingness to pay for reducing the risk of fires in the site. For the first goal, conjoint analysis is used. Three attributes are considered: biodiversity, dimension of the natural area and the economic contribution that would have to be made for its maintenance and preservation. The willingness to pay for reducing the risk of fires has been estimated using choice experiment. The data have been gathered from a mail survey conducted among people living near the Desert de les Palmes Park, a protected area located in the Valencian Community (Spain). En el trabajo s…

A single transient episode of hyperammonemia induces long-lasting alterations in protein kinase A.

2007

A single transient episode of hyperammonemia induces long-lasting alterations in protein kinase A. Am J Physiol Gastrointest Liver Physiol 292: G305-G314,2007; doi:10.1152/ajpgi.00100.2006.-Hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver disease is associated with poor prognosis. This could be due to the induction by the transient episode of hepatic encephalopathy of long-lasting alterations making patients more susceptible. We show that a single transient episode of hyperammonemia induces long-lasting alterations in signal transduction. The content of the regulatory subunit of the protein kinase dependent on cAMP (PKA-RI) is increased in erythrocytes from cirrhotic patients. This increase is…

Optimal Volume for Concert Halls Based on Ando’s Subjective Preference and Barron Revised Theories

2014

[EN] The Ando-Beranek s model, a linear version of Ando s subjective preference theory, obtained by the authors in a recent work, was combined with Barron revised theory. An optimal volume region for each reverberation time was obtained for classical music in symphony orchestra concert halls. The obtained relation was tested with good agreement with the top rated halls reported by Beranek and other halls with reported anomalies.

Using uncertain preferential information from stakeholders to assess the acceptability of alternative forest management plans

2017

In forest management planning, participatory planning processes are often encouraged as a means to acquire relevant information and to enhance the stakeholders' acceptability of alternative plans. This requires the aggregation of the stakeholders' preferences that can be done in a wide variety of manners. The aggregation process strives to reduce the information into a single set of preferences that simplifies the information and allows for the use of discrete decision support tools. Depending on how the preferences are aggregated, a wide range of plan rankings can emerge. Although this range of ranking complicates the issue of plan selection, it does highlight the uncertainty involved in a…

Global analysis of the pMSSM in light of the Fermi GeV excess: prospects for the LHC Run-II and astroparticle experiments

2016

We present a new global fit of the 19-dimensional phenomenological Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (pMSSM-19) that comply with all the latest experimental results from dark matter indirect, direct and accelerator dark matter searches. We show that the model provides a satisfactory explanation of the excess of gamma-rays from the Galactic centre observed by the Fermi~Large Area Telescope, assuming that it is produced by the annihilation of neutralinos in the Milky Way halo. We identify two regions that pass all the constraints: the first corresponds to neutralinos with a mass ~80-100 GeV annihilating into WW with a branching ratio of 95% ; the second to heavier neutralinos, with mass ~…

Comparisons of individual bitterness perception and vegetable liking and consumption among Danish consumers:A pilot study for a cross-cultural sensor…

2012

In order to enhance the consumption of bitter and strong tasting vegetables such as cabbages and root vegetables, it is required to identify potential mediators of sociodemographic–diet relationships. In this context a consumer field studywas conducted in Denmark which comprised a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire, a bitter threshold value test kit with quinineand a preference test with two samples of carrots differing in the degree of bitterness. All tests were conducted outside the laboratory, and the subjects (n=116, aged 18 to 79) were recruited during two different events at two sites in April and June 2011.Data was subjected to multivariate data analysis in order to eluci…

Excitation energies and photoabsorption oscillator strengths of the Rydberg series in CF3Cl. A linear response and quantum defect study.

2007

Vertical excitation energies of the CF(3)Cl molecule have been obtained from a response function approach with a CC reference function to determine absolute photoabsorption oscillator strengths in the molecular-adapted quantum defect orbital formalism (MQDO). The present work covers more highly excited Rydberg states than have been experimentally reported. Assessing of the reliability of the present calculations is provided through a comparative analysis between the results of the molecule and the Cl atom. This can be used to allow for predictions of the same type of properties in other analogous systems.
