Leadership Styles and the Moral Choice of Internal Auditors

Internal auditors’ performance largely depends on their moral decisions when faced with ethical dilemmas. This study explores the impacts of different leadership styles on internal auditors’ moral choice using ERG theory and Path-goal theory. The findings of the survey demonstrated support for both theories. Regression analysis revealed that a sample of West Australian internal auditors were motivated by growth needs and the motivation was enhanced if the leader took a Standard-achievement-oriented approach. Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin suomalaisten keski-ikäisten ihanneikää ja ikäkokemusta sekä niiden yhteyksiä toisiinsa ja hyvinvointiin. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin ensinnäkin, miten keski-ikäisten naisten ja miesten ihanneikä jakautuu. Lisäksi ihanneiän taustalla olevia syitä tarkasteltiin sisällönanalyysilla. Background This article uses the logistic regression model for diagnostic decision making in patients with chronic nasal symptoms. We studied the ability of the logistic regression model, obtained by the evaluation of a database, to detect patients with positive allergy skin-prick test (SPT) and patients with negative SPT. The model developed was validated using the data set obtained from another medical institution. Adsorption of anionic dyes onto natural, thermally and chemically modified smectite clays

Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the adsorption capacity of the smectite clays (from the overburden of the lignite deposit in Belchatow) for two anionic dyes, i.e. Reactive Blue 81 (RB-81) and Direct Blue 74 (DB-74). Additionally, the influence of the thermal and chemical (acid and alkali) clay modifications on the amount of bonded dyes was investigated. The adsorption capacity of the clay (natural and modified) was different for studied dyes and depended on the initial concentration and modification type. The Influence of Religion on Life Satisfaction in Italy

Italy is the cradle of Catholicism and, despite the secularization process, religion continues to be part of its national culture. Although Italian sociologists have investigated the religious paradigm in Italy, there are aspects of such phenomenon still little explored. This paper examines the potential influence religion has on individuals’ life satisfaction. Data from the European Value Study survey provides evidence of a two-way interaction between religion and life satisfaction, with a substantial effect only in the case of public religious forms. Bakalaura darbā ir pētīta ekonomisko un sociālo faktoru ietekme uz 13. Saeimas vēlēšanu rezultātiem Latgales vēlēšanu apgabalā un veikta šo faktoru ietekmes salīdzināšana ar Kurzemes, Vidzemes un Zemgales vēlēšanu apgabalu kopējiem vēlēšanu rezultātiem. Ekonomisko un sociālo faktoru ietekmes būtiskums tiek pārbaudīts, izmantojot korelācijas un regresijas metodes. Iegūtie rezultāti liecina, 13. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tuottaa henkilöstön ja organisaatioiden kehittämistä tukevaa tietoa tarkastelemalla työpaikan tunneilmaston ja psykologisen turvallisuuden yhteyttä organisaation strategian toteuttamiseen. Mājokļu cenu indeksu aprēķina metožu salīdzinājums Latvijas nekustamā īpašuma tirgus datiem

Darbs veltīts nekustāmo īpašumu cenu indeksu aprēķinam. Darbā tika apskatītas trīs populārākās šādu indeksu aprēķina metodes: stratifikācija, hedoniskā regresija un atkārtoto darījumu metode. Lietojot Valsts zemes dienesta Latvijas nekustamā īpašuma tirgus datus laika periodā no 2011. gada 1. janvāra līdz 2015. gada 30. jūnijam, ar visām trim metodēm veikti indeksu aprēķini gan dažādiem tirgus segmentiem, gan Latvijai kopumā. Veikts metožu salīdzinājums, lai atrastu metodes, kas būtu piemērotākās praktiskajai lietošanai turpmākā Valsts zemes dienesta darbā. Darba izstrādes gaitā izveidotas sintakses statistiskajā paketē R, kas realizē apskatītās metodes.
