Incentives, Service Quality, and Regulation: An Application to the Airline Industry
2012
Euroopan unionin yleisen tietosuoja-asetuksen aiheuttamat muutokset organisaatioiden tietoturvapolitiikkoihin
2017
Tietotu…
Allosteric regulation by Mg2+ of the vacuolar H(+)-PPase from Acer pseudoplatanus cells. Ca2+/Mg2+ interactions.
1996
The tonoplast H(+)-PPase was previously characterized in Acer pseudoplatanus cells (Pugin et al (1991) Plant Sci 73, 23-34; Fraichard et al (1993) Plant Physiol Biochem 31, 349-359). Tonoplast vesicles were obtained from vacuoles isolated from protoplasts of A pseudoplatanus suspension cultures and used to study kinetic effects of Mg2+ and Ca2+ on PPi hydrolysis. The concentrations of ionic species (free Mg2+, free PPi, and MgPPi complexes) were calculated with apparent dissociation constants of 55.3 microM for MgPPi and 59.6 microM for CaPPi. Our results indicated that the substrate of the tonoplast PPase was a MgPPi complex and that free Mg2+ was essential for PPi hydrolysis. With fixed f…
The fnr Gene of Bacillus licheniformis and the Cysteine Ligands of the C-Terminal FeS Cluster
1998
Many of the O2-responsive gene regulators of bacteria are members of the fumarate nitrate reductase-cyclic AMP receptor protein family of transcriptional regulators (12, 13, 15, 17) with predicted structures similar to those of the cyclic AMP receptor protein (11). The Fnr (stands for fumarate nitrate reductase regulator) protein from Escherichia coli (FnrEc) controls the expression of a variety of genes, mainly of anaerobic respiration and metabolism (5, 13). It contains a N-terminal cluster of three essential cysteine residues which are supposed to bind together with Cys122 a [4Fe 4S]2+ cluster which is required for O2 sensing (4, 7, 8, 10, 16). A wide variety of gram-negative bacteria co…
Metallothionein overexpression and its prognostic relevance in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and extrahepatic hilar cholangiocarcinoma (Klatskin tu…
2009
Metallothionein is a group of small molecular weight cysteine-rich proteins with a broad variety of functions. Metallothionein has been shown to regulate apoptosis and proliferation. Overexpression of metallothionein frequently occurs in human tumors and is related to prognosis as well as therapy response. However, metallothionein expression and its clinical relevance in cholangiocarcinoma have not been investigated. The present study aimed to analyze metallothionein over-expression and its possible prognostic impact in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and hilar extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (Klatskin tumors). We investigated the relationship of immunohistochemically demonstrated metalloth…
Defective copper transport in the copt5 mutant affects cadmium tolerance.
2014
Cadmium toxicity interferes with essential metal homeostasis, which is a problem for both plant nutrition and the consumption of healthy food by humans. Copper uptake is performed by the members of the Arabidopsis high affinity copper transporter (COPT) family. One of the members, COPT5, is involved in copper recycling from the vacuole toward the cytosolic compartment. We show herein that copt5 mutants are more sensitive to cadmium stress than wild-type plants, as indicated by reduced growth. Exacerbated cadmium toxicity in copt5 mutants is due specifically to altered copper traffic through the COPT5 transporter. Three different processes which have been shown to affect cadmium tolerance ar…

Lobēšanas institūts tiesiskā demokrātiskā valstī
2019
Kate Berlaua.

Self‐control and health‐related behaviour : The role of implicit self‐control, trait self‐control, and lay beliefs in self‐control
2019
Objectives: We tested unique contribution of trait self‐control, implicit self‐control, and lay beliefs in self‐control beliefs to the prediction of health‐related behaviours. We also tested whether relations between trait self‐control and health‐related behaviour, and between implicit self‐control and health‐related behaviours, were moderated by self‐control beliefs. Design: Cross‐sectional, correlational. Methods: Students (N = 176) completed self‐report measures of trait self‐control, lay beliefs that self‐control is limited or non‐limited, non‐planning, participation in health‐related behaviours (impulsive eating, impulsive drinking, exercise avoidance, watching diet, alcohol consumptio…
