Inuentiones and translationes of the relics are part of the hagiographic dossier of a saint and provide interesting information about his cult over the centuries. For S. Mercurius of Caesarea the original texts in Greek have been lost, but we have two collections miracles in Coptic that narrate the inuentio and translatio of his relics and there is also a medieval tradition about his translatio to Benevento (Italy). From all these texts is deduced a healing cult of S. Mercurius based on the usual topics.

Partendo dal ritrovamento, presso l’Archivio di Stato di Palermo, di un inventario di beni confiscati a Manfredi Alagona nel 1393, il lavoro ricostruisce il percorso del tesoro delle regine siciliane (Costanza d’Aragona, Maria di Sicilia) che era stato incamerato dagli Alagona, potente famiglia di origine aragonese trapiantata in Sicilia. The recent purchase of an authentic manuscript from Flavigny abbey referring to the translation of saints bodies gives an opportunity to assess significiance of relics into the cult of saints in the diocese of Autun (Burgundy) during the Middle Ages. Several data source of piety esspecially dedications, religious references in diplomatic acts, and calendars, gives an evidence of the evolution of devotion and even the recession of some cults among several clerics groups. Besides, those informations show the incidence of the cult of regional saints in construction of Autun diocese, wich is one of the larger dioceses in Burgundy.

Anthropomorphic wooden reliquaries an integrated approach to restoration

Two wood anthropomorphic reliquaries, belonging to Lipsanoteca of Epiphany Church, Trapani (Italy), were restored following procedures based on an interdisciplinary approach. The historic-artistic contextualization, constitutive materials and executive techniques were defined. Degradation events were correlated to physical-chemical factors, with particular attention to biodeteriogens. Long-term FRII jet evolution: Clues from three-dimensional simulations

We present a long-term numerical three-dimensional simulation of a relativistic outflow designed to be compared with previous results from axisymmetric, two-dimensional simulations, with existing analytical models and state-of-art observations. We follow the jet evolution from 1~kpc to 200~kpc, using a relativistic gas equation of state and a galactic profile for the ambient medium. We also show results from smaller scale simulations aimed to test convergence and different three-dimensional effects. Suojelualueita ei voi nähdä yksittäisinä eristyneinä alueina, vaan luonnonsuojelualueiden verkosto ja koko ympäröivä maisema ylläpitävät yhdessä tietyn alueen eliölajistoa. Parhaiden alueiden kytkeytyvyyden varmistamista ja verkostojen ylläpitämistä on myös ehdotettu ratkaisuksi biodiversiteetin säilyttämiselle, kun ilmastonmuutos pakottaa lajeja siirtymään uusille asuinalueille. Fils légitimé d’un prince, évêque réformateur, mécène et humanisant, Louis de Bourbon-Vendôme laisse en 1510 un testament où il se montre peu soucieux de vénération des saints, de fondations perpétuelles et de legs charitables, assuré qu’il est de son propre salut par la grâce de sa consécration au point de constituer en autant de reliques les trois parties de son corps dont il a demandé le démembrement, tête, cœur et ossements.
