Amended consumer bankruptcy law in Poland
2020
In the presented paper, the author very deeply and thoroughly explains the issue of the currently amended consumer bankruptcy law in Poland. The paper consists of four key parts. In the first part of the paper, the author clarifies the Polish legislation concerning the consumer bankruptcy; in the second part of his paper he analyses the modes of a debt relief for an insolvent natural person through the consumer bankruptcy and consumer arrangement; the third part of the paper deals with the question of the legal character of a consumer debt relief and, finally, in the last part of his paper, the author focuses on the issues of a payment morality of the debtor and its legal importance. The ma…
Modes of debt relief for consumers in Poland
2019
Consumer bankruptcy has been functioning in the Polish legal system since 2008. The serious amendment to the provisions on consumer bankruptcy made by the Act of 30 August 2019 amending the Act – Bankruptcy Law and some other acts (Journal of Laws 2019 item 1802) will certainly have a significant impact on the remarkable increase in the number of bankruptcy cases. Insolvency of natural persons – consumers is a typical social phenomenon, which has a very different background. It can be caused by a sudden change in the life situation related to e.g. deterioration of health, loss of a well-paid job, divorce, death of a spouse, termination of unformal relationship with a partner. Many people ar…
A NEW PHOTOGRAMMETRIC LAYOUT OF CAMERA STATIONS: A CASE STUDY
2015
This paper describes an easy and low cost photogrammetric method to determine the height of a point in relation to a reference plane. Such a method consists of an innovative geometric layout of the camera stations and specific algorithms. It is applicable to architectural surveying, in particular when the surface to be surveyed present a definitive geometry, with clearly identifiable defined points. The effectiveness of this method was verified through a case study carried out with the use of a digital camera and three dimensional targets. Two different pairs of images were obtained. One pair consists of images taken with a 35 mm and 19 mm focal length; the other one consists of images take…

Optical Field-Induced Mass Transport in Soft Materials
2013
Abstract The dependence of the surface relief formation in amorphous chalcogenide (As 2 S 3 and As-S-Se) and Disperse Red 1 dye grafted polyurethane polymer films on the polarization state of holographic recording light beams was studied. It is shown that the direction of lateral mass transport on the film surface is determined by the direction of light electric vector and photoinduced anisotropy in the film. We propose a photoinduced dielectropfhoretic model to explain the photoinduced mass transport in amorphous films. Model is based on the photoinduced softening of the matrix, formation of defects with enhanced or decreased polarizability, and their drift under the electrical field gradi…
Cognitive Structuring and Its Cognitive-Motivational Determinants as an Explanatory Framework of the Fear-Then-Relief Social Influence Strategy
2017
According to the fear-then-relief technique of social influence, people who experience anxiety whose source is abruptly withdrawn usually respond positively to various requests and commands addressed to them. This effect is usually explained by the fact that fear invokes a specific program of action, and that when the source of this emotion is suddenly and unexpectedly removed, the program is no longer operative, but the person has not yet invoked a new program. This specific state of disorientation makes compliance more likely. In this paper, an alternative explanation of the fear-then-relief effect is offered. It is assumed that the rapid change of emotions is associated with feelings of …
Alternative Military Keynesianism as a Tool of Civil-Military Cooperation in the Framework of the EU Defence Policy
2015
During the last year the security threats to the European Union have increased dramatically under the influence of military crisis in eastern Ukraine and Islamic terrorist activities in Europe. Consequently the demand for defence in the member states of the European Union has become greater than in previous years. This situation leads to the dilemma when the high level of defence expenditure can hamper the financial support of other sectors of national economy. Therefore it is necessary to increase the efficiency of available financial resources that have been allocated for the defence without a significant increase in defence expenditure. In order to achieve this efficiency the concept of cl…
BIFOCAL PAIRS OF IMAGES FOR LOW-COST SURVEY IN CLOSE RANGE PHOTOGRAMMETRY
2019
Abstract. This paper present a method for close range photogrammetry based on an camera positioning scheme in which two cameras capture an equal portion of an object at the same scale, but have different focal lengths and camera-to-object distances. This scheme is alternative to the stereoscopic scheme and is associated with a system of equations which permits one to calculate first the relief displacement of points on a photograph and then their relief relative to a reference plane. The obtained relief and relief displacement values can be used to produce low-cost orthophotographs by using software for image processing, which doesn’t need to be dedicated, but has to provide measurement and…
