STUDY REGARDING THE MARKOWITZ MODEL OF PORTFOLIO SELECTION

The Markowitz model was introduced through the work of Harry Markowitz (1952) and analyzes the risk and the rentability of a diversified portfolio of securities. In our research, we want to use the Markowitz model in order to identify the structure of the optimal portfolio of risky assets, in other words the efficient portofolio. The study, conducted on three romanian companies from the construction sector, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, leads to the conclusion that the portfolio is illegitimate, so it is necessary to sell the securities of the companies in the absence, procedure known as short sell.

Genomic conflicts and sexual antagonism in human health: Insights from oxytocin and testosterone

We review the hypothesized and observed effects of two of the major forms of genomic conflicts, genomic imprinting and sexual antagonism, on human health. We focus on phenotypes mediated by peptide and steroid hormones (especially oxytocin and testosterone) because such hormones centrally mediate patterns of physical and behavioral resource allocation that underlie both forms of conflict. In early development, a suite of imprinted genes modulates the human oxytocinergic system as predicted from theory, with paternally inherited gene expression associated with higher oxytocin production, and increased solicitation to mothers by infants. Kirjallisuuden hyödyntäminen kieltenopetuksessa Suomessa on ollut suhteellisen vähäistä. Kirjallisuuden käyttö kielten opetuksessa tarjoaa kuitenkin enemmän hyötyjä kuin haasteita. Kielen oppimisen lisäksi kirjallisuuden käytöllä voidaan edistää laajempia opetussuunnitelman mukaisia tavoitteita esimerkiksi ihmisenä kasvua. Uusi opetussuunnitelma velvoittaa kehittämään oppilaiden monilukutaitoa eri oppiaineissa, joten se mahdollistaa myös kirjallisuuden käytön kieltenopetuksessa.
