An intramolecular C—H...Cl hydrogen bond is observed. In the crystal, centrosymmetrically-related cations are connected by C—Cl...π interactions, forming a dimeric structure. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak interionic C—H...π interactions.

In the title compound, C28H27NO3, the cyclohexanone and isoxazole rings have envelope conformations, with the methylene and spiro C atoms as the flaps, respectively. The mean plane of the isoxazole ring is inclined slightly to thep-tolyl ring, making a dihedral angle of 14.20 (9)°, and is nearly perpendicular to the mean plane through the tetralone moiety and to the methoxyphenyl ring [dihedral angles = 83.41 (8) and 72.12 (9)°, respectively]. The crystal packing is stabilized mainly by van der Waals forces.

The title salt, 2C3H8N+·C2O42−, crystallized with six independent allylammonium cations and three independent oxalate dianions in the asymmetric unit. One of the oxalate dianions is nearly planar [dihedral angle between CO2planes = 1.91 (19)°], while the other two are twisted with angles of 11.3 (3) and 26.09 (13)°. One cation has a synperiplanar (cis) conformation with an N—C—C—C torsion angle of 0.9 (3)°, whereas the five remaining cations are characterized bygauchearrangements, with the N—C—C—C torsion angles ranging from 115.9 (12) to 128.8 (3)°. This paper presents the initial results of a two-year research project, the Data Journalism Work Practices, which focuses on newsrooms in Finland, UK and US. Data journalism or data-driven journalism has been defined simply as journalism based on large data sets (or big data) Rogers 2011; Bounegru et al. 2012). According to our ongoing research on data journalism work methods, we can claim this has been an oversimplification. In this paper we will argue that all the brief definitions of data journalism lack nuances, and the multiple layers that contemporary data journalism already consists of in newsrooms. Transverse momentum dependence of inclusive primary charged-particle production in p–Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV

The transverse momentum (pT) distribution of primary charged particles is measured at midrapidity in minimum-bias p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC in the range 0.15 < pT < 50 GeV/c. The spectra are compared to the expectation based on binary collision scaling of particle production in pp collisions, leading to a nuclear modification factor consistent with unity for pT larger than 2 GeV/c, with a weak indication of a Cronin-like enhancement for pT around 4 GeV/c. The measurement is compared to theoretical calculations and to data in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. peerReviewed

ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is studying the physics of strongly interacting matter, and in particular the properties of the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP), using proton–proton, proton–nucleus and nucleus–nucleus collisions at the CERN LHC (Large Hadron Collider). The ALICE Collaboration is preparing a major upgrade of the experimental apparatus, planned for installation in the second long LHC shutdown in the years 2018–2019. A key element of the ALICE upgrade is the construction of a new, ultra-light, high-resolution Inner Tracking System (ITS) based on monolithic CMOS pixel detectors.
