Reversible radiculomyelitis after ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccination

Adverse events occurring after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination have been reported and are the subject of ongoing research. We present the case of a young woman with fully reversible radiculomyelitis, which happened after the first dose of the ChAdOx1 nCOVID-19 vaccine. A previously healthy woman in her 20s presented with a subacute onset of legs’ weakness and sensory disturbances, urinary dysfunction and cramping pain after receiving the first dose of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine. A diagnostic workup led to the diagnosis of inflammatory radiculomyelitis. Her clinical status improved, with complete recovery after a few months. Caliber-persistent Artery: A Case Report

ABSTRACT The caliber-persistent labial artery (CPLA) is a vascular anomaly in which a main branch of the artery penetrates the submucosal area of the lip without loss of caliber. It commonly presents as an elevated soft tissue mass and is often pulsatile on manual palpation. Clinical suspicion is important, given the risk of bleeding, either from slight trauma or accidentally if lack of awareness leads to excision of the lesion owing to an incorrect diagnosis. Carcinosarcoma of monoclonal origin arising in a dermoid cyst of ovary: a case report.

Abstract Background Transformation of a cystic benign teratoma of the ovary into a "carcinosarcoma" has very rarely been reported and its histogenetic origin is still debated. Case presentation A case of carcinosarcoma arising from a dermoid cyst is reported. The tumor showed cystic areas delimited by normal squamous epithelium, with transitional areas through dysplastic epithelium to "in situ" and infiltrating squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Overexpression of Ogg1 in mammalian cells: effects on induced and spontaneous oxidative DNA damage and mutagenesis

Chinese hamster ovary cell lines (AA8 and AS52) were stably transfected to overexpress hOgg1 protein, the human DNA repair glycosylase for 7,8-dihydro-8-oxoguanine (8-oxoG). We have established the phenotype of a colorectal tumor by partial sequencing of 2166 transcripts that were eventually arrayed on high-density filters. These filters were used for differential screening with mRNAs of colorectal cancer and normal adjacent mucosa to characterize genes whose expression is altered in colorectal carcinoma. Three genes encoding related proteins, PAP, reg Iα and reg Iβ, were over-expressed in cancer. Northern-blot analysis confirmed that their expression was very low in normal colonic epithelial cells, but elevated in 75% of tumors.
