Background noise has become part of our everyday life in modern societies. Its presence affects both the ability to concentrate and communicate. Some individuals, like children, the elderly, and non-native speakers have pronounced problems in noisy environments. Recent studies showed that the perception of extremely shifted versions of familiar pieces of music affects judgements about the original tempo and pitch. This paper aims to give an overview on musical adaptation effects (MAEs) for musical tempo and pitch. The focus is set on the questions if the recently found MAEs are generally comparable between the tempo and the pitch domain, and if they can be found to the same extent. the aim of this study is to show the evolution of the social representation of an object which gradually anchored in daily practices. Our approach is longitudinal the study took place during 5 years. 315 subjects were divided in 3 independent groups of regular users of Internet. Measurement was done at 3 times: in 2001, 2003 and 2005. Subjects are solicited for a verbal association task. Results are treated by a lexical analysis followed by a prototypic analysis (VERGES, 1992). El presente trabajo pretende valorar los resultados obtenidos mediante la utilización del dibujo y de las descripciones a lo largo de una actividad basada en la observación de la morfología de las hormigas. Se plantea un trabajo individual y autónomo donde los participantes, en 3 etapas diferentes, deben tratar de dibujar o describir su observación de muestras vivas de hormigas. Los resultados de la investigación son muy significativos, puesto que encontramos diferencias estadísticas entre la utilización de las dos estrategias, así como entre las producciones de cada etapa, pudiendo ver cómo evolucionan sus representaciones mentales.
