Observacions sobre la posició dels subjectes postverbals en català i castellà

2007

This is a comparative study of the different positions of postverbal subjects in two closely related languages that nevertheless show clear differences in this respect. The comparative study will allow us to reject the idea that postverbal subjects in Romance languages are in a unique in situ position Spec VP as has been proposed recently (Motapayane1995, Ordóñez 1998, Costa 2000, Alexiadou i Anagnostopoulou 2001, Cardinaletti 2001). On the contrary, this study will show clearly that there is a need for two positions for postverbal subjects in order to understand the parametric differences between Catalan and Spanish. The general hypothesis will be that the subjects can access a higher Spec…

Economic Sustainability of Italian Greenhouse Cherry Tomato

2014

Greenhouse tomato cultivation plays an important role in Sicily, being the primary production area in Italy, due to its favorable pedo-climatic conditions that permit extra-seasonal productions. In Sicily, more than half of greenhouse tomato production is derived from the Province of Ragusa on the southeastern coast, where especially cherry tomato typologies are cultivated. Over the last decade, the Ragusa Province has registered a decrease both in terms of greenhouse tomato area and harvested production due to several structural problems that would require restructuring of the tomato supply chain. Thus, since recognition of real costs and profitability of tomato growing is a vital issue, b…

Società in house e crisi d’impresa alla luce dell’art. 14 TUSP

2021

The article analyzes the content of Article 14 TUSP (i.e. the Italian Law on Publicly Owned Companies), affirming its applicability also to in-house companies. Particular attention is paid to the regulation of the recovery / restructuring plans mentioned therein and to the interrelationships existing between the latter and the similar (but different) institution of the “certified recovery plans” mentioned by the current Article 67, paragraph 3, lett. d), Bankruptcy Law. Further considerations are addressed to the possibility that theabovementioned recovery plan contemplates the sale of the public shareholdings held by the parent company in the in-house company. Finally, a concise concluding…

Niniejsze opracowanie odnosi się do zagadnień związanych z odpowiedzialnością odszkodowawczą Skarbu Państwa w stosunku do udziałowców dłużnika z tytułu błędnego orzeczenia o opcji upadłości likwidacyjnej zamiast o opcji restrukturyzacji. The need for a special restructuring procedure for insolvent entrepreneurs due to SARS-CoV-2

2020

This text refers to the need for simple restructuring proceedings for entrepreneurs due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic. Some countries may be more deeply affected by the crisis, others may be more resilient to economic shocks. The comments are abstract. They do not refer to any particular legal system. Their purpose is to provoke a general discussion on the need to introduce into the legislation special rules regarding business insolvency as a result of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The main assumption is as follows. The main purpose of insolvency law is to maximize creditors’ satisfaction. Early warning on insolvency in the European Union law

2020

Rapid diagnosis of the risk of an entrepreneur’s insolvency is of great importance for the socio-economic environment. This issue is of particular importance in the context of the financial crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. A much better solution is the restructuring of the debtor. For the purposes of predicting insolvency can be used Artificial Intelligence although traditional methods are also in use. The roles of job and worker restructuring in aggregate wage growth dynamics

2019

We propose an approach for measuring and analyzing the dynamics of the standard aggregate wage growth of macro statistics with micro data. Our method decomposes the aggregate wage growth into the wage growth of job stayers and into various terms related to job and worker restructuring. This method produces explicit expressions with clear interpretations for the various restructuring components. Using comprehensive longitudinal employer–employee data, we study how job and worker restructuring influence the aggregate wage growth and its cyclicality. The results highlight the importance of drawing a sharp distinction between job and worker restructuring in the analysis of aggregate wage growth…
