[EN] A historic review (fundamentally centered in Spain, but with multiple references to other international fields) of the evaluation process of scientific production has been carried out, mainly of periodicals. Available alternatives have also been analyzed after a turbulent period that has seen varied instruments for journal revision disappear. Finally, some of the tendencies and necessities in the field of scientific publication evaluation that will presumably mark the future development of future instruments and procedures are identified.
RELIEVE: twenty years immersed in the chronology of open access of the sciences

Coinciding with the first 20 years of RELIEVE, this article presents a comparative analysis of the historical milestones of the journal and the worldwide Open Access movement, in order to better frame its evolution. We review some of the principal contributions made in the field of scientific communication during these two decades: the appearance and development of electronic journals, the development of the Open Access movement, the appearance of repositories, the development of platforms to manage articles, new databases, etc.

Remedios Varo es una pintora nacida en Anglés, un pueblo de la provincia de Gerona al norte de Barcelona. Background & Study Aim: Although judo is a sport with great tradition that is practised worldwide, the state of the art and scientific advances have not been analysed from a bibliometric point of view up to now. The aim of the present article is the status of the scientific production, collaboration, and impact of scientific papers on judo, as well as the most active research groups working on this topic. Material & Methods: Our analysis was based on documents retrieved from the Science Citation Index and Social Science Citation Index.
