By studying metaphors of love in Handel´s opera Giulio Cesare in Egitto, I will introduce how it is depicted by the protagonists´ arias; via Cleopatra´s and Caesar´s musical relations, as a prevailing message. The atmospheric tone paintings set to the musical highlights of the protagonist arias answer the questions: how is love defined in Giulio Cesare? What kind of musical signs of love are there to be found and what will they tell us? Love is an essential theme in the work because the arias` foci are interlocked by the affectual tensions. Ir veikti vairāki avīžu rakstu pētījumi no dažādiem aspektiem, taču maz uzmanības tiek pievērsts retoriskajiem teksta posmiem avīžu rakstos, kas pieejami internetā, tādēļ šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt retoriskos teksta posmus un to attiecīgo soļus struktūru interneta ziņu rakstos un noteikt to lingvistiskās iezīmes. Temporizing and Essentializing the Enemy : A Logological Reading of Finnish Lutheran Clerical War Rhetoric

This article looks at the shift between logical and temporal vocabularies, called by Kenneth Burke the temporizing of essence. It combines “logology” with a rhetorical analysis of how it was applied in a concrete historical situation as a means of persuasion. First, I discuss Burke’s logology, which is the theory underlying the idea of temporized essence. Second, I turn to the notion in relation to its two main forms, origins and fruition; third, Finnish clerical rhetoric during the Continuation War 1941–44 will be analyzed using ideas drawn on logology. peerReviewed
Niegodziwi pasterze i Dobry Pasterz Ez 34 w świetle retoryki hebrajskiej

Kontekstem podjętych badań było odmienne opisywanie struktury tekstu Ez 34 przez różnych komentatorów Księgi Ezechiela. Celem badań było odkrycie struktury, którą starożytny autor zaplanował i zapisał. Zastosowano metodę retoryki hebrajskiej, którą opracował Roland Meynet. Osiągnięto następujące wyniki badań: fragment Ez 34,1-10 ma strukturę paralelno-koncentryczną o schemacie: A, B, C, B’, A’. Fragment Ez 34,11-31 też ma strukturę paralelno-koncentryczną o takim samym schemacie. Wniosek, jaki można wyciągnąć z badanego tekstu, sprowadza się do stwierdzenia, że Księga Ezechiela jest aktualna dzisiaj.

Understanding politics as a contingent and controversial activity, politicisation refers to those activities that create or make visible the political quality in the phenomena in question. Parliamentarisation is a distinct strategy of politicisation. In this chapter, parliament refers to a certain procedural and institutional ideal type of acting politically. The parliamentary way of politicising acting and thinking forms a Gedankenbild, a mental image. It is an ideal type that one-sidedly accentuates and intensifies the political way of thinking.
