It is predominantly caused by a fully penetrant mutation (p.S358L) in the nondesmosomal gene TMEM43-endemic to Newfoundland, Canada. To date, all familial cases reported worldwide share a common ancestral haplotype. Aim To evaluate the reliability of the bright liver (BL) echo pattern on ultrasound to detect histological steatosis in chronic cryptogenic hypertransaminasaemia (CCH) and hepatitis C virus (HCV)-related forms of hypertransaminasaemia. Light exposure patterns in schizophrenia

Spontaneous light exposure patterns were studied in 10 chronic schizophrenic patients. Half of our schizophrenic patients exposed themselves to bright light exceeding ordinary indoor illumination. There was a significant positive correlation between the percentage of exposure to bright light and the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale subscore anergia and a significant negative correlation with depression.
