Keho ja mieli liikkeelle! : kokemuksia kehollisuudesta ja kehon merkityksistä luovan liikkeen kurssilla

Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan neljän naispuolisen opiskelijan kehollisuuden kokemuksia luovan liikkeen kurssilla Jyväskylän yliopistolla helmikuussa 2012. Päätavoitteena on lisätä ymmärrystä siitä, millaisista näkökulmista kehollisuutta voidaan lähestyä ja millaisia merkityksiä kehollisuudelle voidaan antaa. Tutkielma on laadullinen ja toiminnallinen tapaustutkimus, jossa hyödynnetään fenomenologis-hermeneuttista lähestymistapaa. Aineisto koostuu kurssilaisten alkuhaastatteluista, heidän kirjoittamistaan raporteista jokaista kurssikertaa kohden sekä loppuesseistä. Millainen on ollut kotitietokoneiden kehityshistoria Suomessa? Kuinka suosittu pelikone oli Commodore 64? Oliko Atari ST parempi kuin Amiga? Koneen lumo vie meidät takaisin aikaan, jolloin mikrotietokoneet olivat vasta tulossa kulutuselektroniikkamarkkinoille. Tutkimus pureutuu tietokoneharrastuksen eri yhteisöjen, kerhojen ja alakulttuurien syntymiseen ja vakiintumisen. Vahvana teemana on hyödyn ja viihteen välinen jännitteinen suhde. Uusien ja ihmeellisten kotitietokoneiden tulo suomalaiseen arkeen ei ollut ristiriidaton tai ongelmaton tapahtuma. Swinholides are 42-carbon ring polyketides with a 2-fold axis of symmetry. They are potent cytotoxins that disrupt the actin cytoskeleton. Swinholides were discovered from the marine sponge Theonella sp. and were long suspected to be produced by symbiotic bacteria. Misakinolide, a structural variant of swinholide, was recently demonstrated to be the product of a symbiotic heterotrophic proteobacterium. Here, we report the production of swinholide A by an axenic strain of the terrestrial cyanobacterium Nostoc sp. strain UHCC 0450. Abstract Associations between school-related stress and poor health, risk behaviours and low well-being are well documented. The aim of this paper was to estimate trends of perceived school stress experienced by boys and girls of different ages in the Nordic countries, and to describe trends in school stress between the Nordic countries. Nordic data from the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study (HBSC) between 2002 and 2014 were used. The participants were aged 11–16 years. Bacterial antibiotic resistance is often a part of mobile genetic elements that move from one bacterium to another. By interfering with the horizontal movement and the maintenance of these elements, it is possible to remove the resistance from the population. Here, we show that a so-called plasmid-dependent bacteriophage causes the initially resistant bacterial population to become susceptible to antibiotics. However, this effect is efficiently countered when the system also contains a predator that feeds on bacteria. The Aqua-Planet Experiment (APE): CONTROL SST Simulation

Climate simulations by 16 atmospheric general circulation models (AGCMs) are compared on an aqua-planet, a water-covered Earth with prescribed sea surface temperature varying only in latitude. The idealised configuration is designed to expose differences in the circulation simulated by different models. Basic features of the aqua-planet climate are characterised by comparison with Earth. The models display a wide range of behaviour. The balanced component of the tropospheric mean flow, and mid-latitude eddy covariances subject to budget constraints, vary relatively little among the models.
