In all eukaryotes, the 24-h periodicity in the environment contributed to the evolution of the molecular circadian clock. We studied some elements of a postulated circadian clock circuit in the lowest metazoans, the siliceous sponges. First, we identified in the demosponge Suberites domuncula the enzyme luciferase that generates photons. Their manufacturing process involves a series of steps, starting with raw materials and ending with the machine assembly. In each of these steps occur deviations due, for instance, to mistakes in positioning tools or to the tolerances in the electrical and magnetic characteristics of the materials. Sponges (phylum Porifera) live in an aqueous milieu that contains dissolved organic carbon. This is degraded photochemically by ultraviolet radiation to alkenes, particularly to ethylene. This study demonstrates that sponge cells (here the demosponge Suberites domuncula has been used), which have assembled to primmorphs, react to 5 microM ethylene with a significant up-regulation of intracellular Ca(2+) concentration and with a reduction of starvation-induced apoptosis. Clusterin (apolipoprotein J) is an extracellular glycoprotein that might exert functions in development, cell death and lipid transport. Clusterin gene expression is elevated at sites of tissue remodelling, such as differentiation and apoptosis; however, the signals responsible for this regulation have not been identified. Porifera (sponge) form the lowest metazoan phylum and share a common ancestor with other metazoan phyla. In the present study, it is reported that sponges possess molecules that are similar in structure to those molecules involved in the immune system in mammals. Experiments with the marine sponges Geodia cydonium and Suberites domuncula have been performed on tissue (auto- and allografting) as well as on a cellular level. Holidays play a vital role in the configuration of our life. Our most profound expectances are posed to this magic moment. However, under some contexts, what starts as a dream ends in a nightmare. It is unfortunate this is the case of victims of Villa Gesell’s tragedy, resulted when a ray impacted directly to a beach. Nobody is immune of tragedy, even at holidays. This essay review explores not only the anthropological roots of risk and paradise, but also the journalist discourse to cover the event. Far from the general opinion, disasters affect tourism, we strongly believe it strengths its attractiveness.

Pasaulē strauji palielinās resursu patēriņš un pieprasījums pēc tiem, kā rezultātā rodas arī liels atkritumu apjoms, kas būtiski ietekmē ne tikai vidi un klimatu, bet arī iedzīvotājus. Šo iemeslu dēļ Eiropas Savienība ir izstrādājusi ilgtspējas mērķus, kas jāsasniedz līdz 2030.gadam. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt Latvijas virzību šo mērķu sasniegšanā. Lai izpētītu šo virzību, darba ietvaros tiek pētīti Latvijas iedzīvotāju sadzīves atkritumu šķirošanas paradumi un dažādi faktori, kas motivētu iedzīvotājus šķirot ikdienā vēl apzinīgāk. Darba mērķi ir iepazīties ar aprites ekonomikas jēdzienu, pasaules praksi industriālās simbiozes parku izveidē, darbībā un vadībā, izstrādāt teorētiskus industriālās simbiozes parka darbības un vadības modeļus uz metālapstrādes un mašīnbūves nozaru uzņēmumu bāzes, kas sekmētu efektīvāku industriālo atkritumu apsaimniekošanu, ražošanas izejvielu iegādi, attīstītu tīklveida sadarbību starp uzņēmumiem un spētu radīt papildus konkurētspējas priekšrocības.

Mūsdienu sabiedrības neatņemamu sastāvdaļa ir jaunākas tehnoloģijas, bez kurām ikdienu ir grūti iztēloties. Tā pat tiek runāts par piesārņojuma samazināšanas nepieciešamību. Šīm minētājām problēmām ir viens kopsaucējs- aprites ekonomika. Arvien vairāk cilvēku vēlas paši būt sava laika noteicēji, šādu risinājumu sniedz pašnodarbinātība, ko piedāvā dalīšanās ekonomika. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot Latvijas iedzīvotājiem pieejamās informācijas apjomu un kvalitāti, kā arī apkopot Latvijas iedzīvotājiem pieejamos dalīšanās ekonomikas uzņēmumus. Pētījuma rezultātā, darba autore secina, ka aptuveni 63% Latvijas iedzīvotāju vismaz daļēji zina, kas ir dalīšanās ekonomika, no kuriem vairāk kā 90%…
