Spinal anaesthesia in a patient with post-spine surgery dural ectasia.

Dural sac ectasia is a very infrequent anatomical abnormality, usually caused by connective tissue diseases, as Marfan syndrome. Very few cases have been described being a consequence of a previous spine surgical procedure. We describe the case of an elderly patient who should be operated on twice due to sub-occlusive colon disease. Surgery was performed under spinal anaesthesia. A dural sac ectasia was suspected after the first procedure and the abdominal X-ray was reviewed. The characteristics of the anatomical alteration and the course of both anaesthetic procedures were described. X-ray and CT images were provided.
Anatomy of the Sacral Roots and the Pelvic Splanchnic Nerves in Women Using the LANN Technique

AIMS: To report on our anatomic and electrophysiologic findings about the sacral nerve roots and the pelvic splanchnic nerves during laparoscopic pelvic surgery. METHODS: The pelvic splanchnic nerves and the sacral nerve roots were dissected in 336 consecutive patients undergoing laparoscopy for pelvic pain syndrome or gynecologic diseases. Intraoperative assessment of the functionality of the exposed nerves was performed using the LAparoscopic Neuro-Navigation (LANN) technique. RESULTS: Dissection of the sacral roots and the splanchnic pelvic nerves lateral to the sacral hypogastric fascia was feasible without any complications in all patients in this series. Les sites préhistoriques peuvent devenir les instruments de la reconnaissance de l’identité d’une communauté par rapport à son territoire. Ce sont les spectateurs du lien existant entre facteurs visibles et invisibles à l’intérieur même des sites. En ce qui concerne les découvertes préhistoriques, on a conscience que le pouvoir de témoigner le plus fort est exprimé principalement par les formes primordiales d’art rupestre. Souvent s’imposent des solutions dans lesquelles la technique est « mise au service » de la préhistoire afin de la rendre accessible au public. My chapter describes the history of Finnish museology. I use an archival approach to show how museology became a university discipline, as well as to show the efforts made to enhance professionalism in this area. Museology is a young science in Finland, and its development stems from a knowledge of collection care. The meaning of “cultural patrimony” includes today both the objects and the popular traditions. Territory, local architecture, daily life uses and customs have been placed side by side to “dignified” finds in the role of testimony of the past. Such testimony is firmly connected to the territory and its landscape. In fact, the sites of archaeological interest, but mostly the prehistoric sites, are recognized not only for their intrinsic value, but also for the space that they represent.
