Variation in the Sizes of Chthamalid Barnacle Post-Settlement Cyprids on European Shores

As part of a wider study on the settlement and recruitment of Chthamalus spp. in Europe, this study investigated whether chthamalid cyprids can be separated by length on a European scale. Variation in cyprid length with latitude and temporal variation at selected localities were also examined. The lengths of cyprids collected between 1996-1999 on nine rocky shores in Europe are reported. Elminius modestus cyprids were found only at Roscoff, NW France and could be distinguished due to their Carapace shape and length. Perusopetuksen opetussuunnitelman perusteissa 2014 musiikin opetuksen tavoitteissa mainitaan, että myönteiset musiikkikokemukset ja elämykset innostavat oppilaita kehittämään musiikillisia taitojaan. Tavoitteissa todetaan myös, että opetuksessa tulisi hyödyntää taide- ja kulttuurilaitosten sekä muiden yhteistyötahojen tarjoamia mahdollisuuksia. Näkisin, että koulukonsertit ovat oivallinen tapa toteuttaa näitä tavoitteita.

This article focuses on the place that proper names originating from rock, or popular music in general, take or could take in dictionaries of proper names. It starts with an overview of onomástica published thus far, revealing a limited interest of Polish researchers in proper nouns related to this form of artistic activity. This discovery prompted the author to share his suggestions regarding such an onomasticon, or even onomástica, where names from popular music and specific categories would take a central place. Conditions are proposed which such a dictionary can or must meet based on the categories used in lexicography such as macro-, micro-, media- and megastructure. The final section …

Pro gradu -työssäni tutkin 2010-luvun kotimaista sotakuvausta kolmen uuden sukupolven naiskirjoittajan sota-aiheisissa teoksissa. Tutkimuskohteenani ovat Katja Ketun romaani Kätilö (2011), Heidi Köngäksen romaani Dora, Dora (2012) sekä Paula Vesalan sanoitukset Kiestinki-albumille (2011). Artikkeli tarkastelee populaarimusiikin roolia historiaan viittaavien kollektiivisten traumojen, uhriasemien ja antagonististen kuvastojen tuottajana. Itäisessä Keski-Euroopassa suosittua ’kansallismielistä rock-musiikkia’ esimerkkinään käyttäen se tutkii sitä, miten populaarimusiikki sekä siihen liittyvät diskurssit ja sosiaalisen kanssakäymisen muodot tuottavat, kierrättävät ja lujittavat kansakuntakeskeisiin uhriasemiin ja traumoihin perustuvia historian tulkintoja ja näin siirtävät niitä osaksi historiakulttuuria. Tracer migration in crystalline rock : application to geological barriers of nuclear waste storage

This work deals with transport of radionuclides in the geosphere. The subject is investigated through characterisation of water conducting fractures, determining of rock transport properties and development of new methods for characterising geological samples. Here, as is often the case, radionuclide transport is investigated indirectly by characterising the structures, where the transport takes place, and directly by measuring transport properties in the gas phase. First water conducting fractures of three different types and the rock matrix surrounding them were analysed through rock samples from Olkiluoto.
