The accuracy of the fatigue life calculations in rolling bearing simulations is highly dependent on the precision of the roller-raceway contact simulations and the ability to accurately include structural deflections of the supporting structure. Several different methods exist to simulate the pressure distributions, and in time-domain bearing simulations, where many contacts need evaluation, the simple and time efficient methods are more popular. Visual-based Feedback Control of Casting Manipulation

In this paper, we present a method to control casting manipulation by means of real-time visual feedback. Casting manipulation is a technique to deploy a robotic end-effector at large distances from the robot’s base, by throwing the end-effector and controlling its ballistic flight using forces transmitted through a light tether connected to the end-effector itself. The tether cable can also be used to retrieve the end-effector and exert forces on the robot’s environment. DSC: software tool for simulation-based design of control strategies applied to wastewater treatment plants.

This paper presents a computer tool called DSC (Simulation based Controllers Design) that enables an easy design of control systems and strategies applied to wastewater treatment plants. Although the control systems are developed and evaluated by simulation, this tool aims to facilitate the direct implementation of the designed control system to the PC of the full-scale WWTP (wastewater treatment plants). The designed control system can be programmed in a dedicated control application and can be connected to either the simulation software or the SCADA of the plant. A microcontroller-based portable electrocardiograph recorder.

We describe a low cost portable Holler design that can be implemented with off-the-shelf components. The recorder is battery powered and includes a graphical display and keyboard. The recorder is capable of acquiring up to 48 hours of continuous electrocardiogram data at a sample rate of up to 250 Hz.

In networked control systems several devices (controller, process and others) share a common communication bus. This feature can suppose delays when those devices try to transmit information through the unique bus, leading to a non- regular behaviour, that is, different variables are sampled and updated in a non-uniform way along the time. The paper deals with methods of identification of the parameters of an induction motor model using genetic algorithms. It is supposed that the inverter supplying the motor is directly accessible for control of the conduction sequences of its power switches. This makes it possible to carry out a test consisting of a transient from standstill to steady-state operation at a given frequency and successive free motion to standstill. An efficient strategy to improve unequally irradiated PV plants performances is based on the reconfiguration of the connections between the modules. In this paper, an algorithm, for this purpose conceived, is presented.
