Diastereoselectivity of the Addition of Propargylic Magnesium Reagents to Fluorinated Aromatic Sulfinyl Imines.

The addition of propargylmagnesium bromide to fluorinated aromatic sulfinyl imines gave homopropargyl amines with total regio- and diastereoselection. Complete reversal of diastereoselectivity can be achieved in some cases using coordinating (THF) or noncoordinating (DCM) solvents. Substituted propargylic magnesium reagents have been also tested toward fluorinated aryl sulfinyl imines affording chiral homoallenyl amines with good yields and selectivity control. DFT calculations helped to rationalize the origin of the experimental regio- and diastereoselectivities observed in each case.
Hierarchical Beta zeolites obtained in concentrated reaction mixtures as catalysts in tetrahydropyranylation of alcohols

Abstract Hierarchical zeolites consisting of Beta nanoparticles (15–40 nm) were obtained via hydrothermal treatment of a concentrated zeolite gel-precursor (H2O/Si = 2.5–14) without utilization of complex SDAs. The proposed approach is based on the formation of a large number of zeolite nuclei under particular crystallization conditions, followed by their agglomeration resulting in the dense packing of the particles preventing their further growth. The chromium(III) sensitizer [Cr(ddpd)2]3+ - based on an earth-abundant metal center - possesses a unique excited state potential energy landscape (ddpd = N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-dipyridine-2-ylpyridine-2,6-diamine). The very large energy gap between the redox active and substitutionally labile 4T2 state and the long-lived low-energy 2E spin-flip state enables a selective, efficient sensitization of triplet dioxygen to give singlet dioxygen. Ultrafast intersystem crossing after the Franck Condon point from the 4T2 to the 2E excited state within 3.5 ps precludes intermolecular electron transfer pathways from the ultrashort-lived excited 4T2 state. This study looked at predictors of exposure to polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) with a focus on dietary and household-level factors. Concentrations of BDE-47, -99, -153, and -209 and their sum (∑PBDEs) were measured in cord serum. Spanish women (n = 541) completed two semiquantitative food frequency questionnaires during the first and third trimesters of pregnancy. The daily mean intake (grams) of eggs, dairy products, meat, cereals and pasta, vegetables and pulses, fruits, shellfish and cephalopods, and fish, and the weekly mean intake (servings) of lean, large oily, other oily, and other fish from both questionnaires were averaged. At the local level, management of the forests depends upon the ownership structure, with forest owners using their forests as they see fit. In the last few decades, technological developments and the widespread rise of anthropic activities have increased the exposure of organisms to noise pollution, thus evoking great interest in its biological effects, particularly on the immune system.
