Restrictive Factors for Micro-Company Growth in Latvia

2020

Every country is interested in entrepreneurship development as entrepreneurs form the basis for economic development, so academic researchers are looking for supportive and restrictive factors in business development. In Latvia, the majority of companies are micro and small enterprises. The aim of the paper is to investigate the restrictive factors related to the successful development of the company in Latvia, depending on the number of employees. Tasks of the research - evaluate the limiting factors influencing the development of micro-companies; find the most important factors that limit the involvement of employees and experienced managers in companies in the country, regions; compare t…

How Do Young People Cope with Job Flexibility?: Demographic and Psychological Antecendents of the Resistance to Accept a Job with Non-Preferred Flexi…

2002

From the spherical top to the asymmetric top

2004

This habilitation report presents a synthesis of my research work during the last 14 years. I have distinguished my experimental activities (part III), my theoretical work on the spectroscopy of quasi-spherical tops (part IV) and that concerning the spectroscopy of molecules trapped in solids (part V).

The Born–Oppenheimer equilibrium bond distance of GeO from millimetre- and submillimetre-wave spectra and quantum-chemical calculations

2014

The millimetre- and submillimetre-wave spectra of the five common isotopologues of (GeO)-O-16 in their electronic and vibrational ground state have been recorded in the spectral region 115-732GHz; for (GeO)-Ge-74-O-16, the rotational spectrum in the v = 1 state has been detected as well. Exploiting the high precision of the measurements, the Born-Oppenheimer breakdown parameter Delta(Ge)(01) could be determined from a Dunham analysis of the spectral data, whereas Delta(O)(01) was obtained from quantum-chemical calculations, because of the lack of high-precision measurements for the (GeO)-O-18 isotopologues. From the rotational equilibrium constant, the Born-Oppenheimer equilibrium distance …

Rotational spectrum of silyl chloride: hyperfine structure and equilibrium geometry

2012

The Lamb-dip technique was employed to record the rotational spectra of two isotopic species of silyl chloride, namely (28)SiH3Cl and (29)SiH3Cl, in order to investigate their hyperfine structure. High-accuracy quantum-chemical computations were employed to predict the hyperfine parameters involved and to support the experimental investigation. Analysis of the experimental spectra led to an improvement in the accuracy of the known spectroscopic constants as well as allowed us to determine additional spectroscopic parameters for the first time. Furthermore, the equilibrium structure of silyl chloride was reinvestigated using both theoretical and experimental data. The best theoretical and se…

Nonlinear nystagmus processing causes torsional VOR nonlinearity.

2003

The eye movement component that rotates around the line of sight, i.e., the ocular torsion, is in many aspects different from horizontal and vertical eye movements. While ocular torsion is mediated only by reflexive pathways like the torsional vestibulo-ocular and optokinetic reflexes (TVOR and OKN, respectively), horizontal and vertical components are also subject to intentional control mechanisms that are mediated by the saccadic and the pursuit systems. Dynamic properties of torsional eye movements are also very distinct. While horizontal and vertical VOR components show a gain close to unity and a small neural integration leakage with a time constant around pi=30 s, the TVOR shows a sma…

Preparation of 2,3-seco-5α-cholestane-2,3-diol and 4α-methyl-2,3-seco-5α-cholestane-2,3-diol and its reactions with o-nitrophenyl selenocyanate

1984

The reaction of 2,3-seco-5 alpha-cholestane-2,3-diol and 4 alpha-methyl-2,3-seco-5 alpha-cholestane-2,3-diol with o-nitrophenyl selenocyanate was studied. The diols were synthesized from cholesterol.

A Marching in Space and Time (MAST) solver of the shallow water equations. Part I: The 1D model

2007

A new approach is presented for the numerical solution of the complete 1D Saint-Venant equations. At each time step, the governing system of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) is split, using a fractional time step methodology, into a convective prediction system and a diffusive correction system. Convective prediction system is further split into a convective prediction and a convective correction system, according to a specified approximated potential. If a scalar exact potential of the flow field exists, correction vanishes and the solution of the convective correction system is the same solution of the prediction system. Both convective prediction and correction systems are shown to …
