Abstract Grotta d’Oriente, a coastal cave located on the island of Favignana (Sicily, Italy) is a key site for the study of the early human colonization of Sicily. Inside the cave, during different field excavations, three burials attributable to the Late Upper Palaeolithic and Mesolithic were found. The Mesolithic Oriente B individual, directly dated at 9,377 ± 25 uncal BP, was previously assigned to HV1 haplogroup using a traditional approach. Selective recovery of phosphorus as AlPO4 from silicon-free CFB-derived fly ash leachate

The prospect of phosphorus (P) recovery from siliceous fly ash was investigated. The phosphorus content in the pristine fly ash was 1.21%. Obtaining pure phosphorus products from fly ash is very challenging because of high concentration of other elements, silicon (Si) at 17.3% being the major contaminant. The fly ash was fractionated with sieve size of 125 μm to concentrate the phosphorus in the small-size fraction, which also facilitated the removal of 78% of silica (Si) in the solid phase. The fractionated fly ash was treated with 8 M HCl in order to remove 98% of Si by aging (5 h) of leachate until precipitation of Si-gel, and a phosphorus-rich solution is obtained. Lo studio si concentra sull'industria dello zolfo in Sicilia, sviluppatasi dalla fine del Settecento e definitivamente dismessa negli anni Ottanta del secolo scorso, con ripercussioni negative sul fronte economico, sociale, ambientale e paesaggistico. Transformational leadership and depressive symptoms among employees : mediating factors

Purpose– The purpose of this paper is to examine whether the link between transformational leadership and depressive symptoms among employees is mediated by such personal resources as occupational self-efficacy, perceived meaningfulness of the work, and work-related rumination.Design/methodology/approach– The study was conducted using questionnaires among 557 Finnish municipal employees in various occupations. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin koulupsykologien viikonlopun aikaisen psykologisen työstä irrottautumisen yhteyksiä unen laatuun ja palautumisen kokemukseen. Lisäksi tutkittiin eroavatko koulupsykologien psykologinen työstä irrottautuminen, unen laatu ja palautumisen kokemus taustatekijöiden mukaan (sukupuoli, ikä, työsuhteen muoto, työtunnit, oppilasmäärä, kotona asuvat lapset). Kolme viikkoa kestäneen päiväkirjatutkimuksen kyselyt toteutettiin kolmena peräkkäisenä perjantaina ja niitä seuranneina kolmena peräkkäisenä maanantaina keväällä 2014. Separation of atomic and molecular ions by ion mobility with an RF carpet

Gas-filled stopping cells are used at accelerator laboratories for the thermalization of high-energy radioactive ion beams. Common challenges of many stopping cells are a high molecular background of extracted ions and limitations of extraction efficiency due to space-charge effects. At the FRS Ion Catcher at GSI, a new technique for removal of ionized molecules prior to their extraction out of the stopping cell has been developed. This technique utilizes the RF carpet for the separation of atomic ions from molecular contaminant ions through their difference in ion mobility.
