Evaluating the Effects of the Rill Longitudinal Profile on Flow Resistance Law

In this paper, for the first time, the effect of the longitudinal profile shape of the rill (uniform, concave, and convex) on flow resistance law was studied. The first part of the paper is based on a theoretical equation to estimate the Darcy–Weisbach friction factor f, deduced from the power velocity distribution and rill measurements performed on a plot. At first, the equation to estimate the Γ parameter of the velocity profile was calibrated using all available measurements. Importance Purpose in Life in Reducing Aggressive Response in Adolescence

In order to study the Purpose in Life related to the Aggressive Behavior, we applied the translated version of “Life Purpose Test” by Crumbaugh and Maholich and the Violent Behavior Scale (CA) by Little on 771 subjects, of which 354 were men and 409 were women, with ages between 11 and 17 years, all of them students schools belonging to the province of Valencia. The results are congruent with the initial hypothesis; The Purpose in Life is negatively correlated to the subject´s Aggressive Behavior, so that people having a high level of Sense of Life will less involved in aggressive behavior.

The analysis of video traffic characteristics plays a fundamental role in the evaluation of network performance or schedule design. However, the majority of these analyses are based on the study of traffic characteristics generated with different codifiers on typical general purpose films or sequences. Submerged speleothems and sea level reconstructions: a global overview and new results from the Mediterranean Sea

This study presents a global overview of the submerged speleothems used to reconstruct paleo sea levels and reports new results from two stalactites collected in the Mediterranean Sea. Coastal cave deposits significantly contributed to the understanding of global and regional sea-level variations during the Middle and Late Quaternary. The studied speleothems cover the last 1.4 Myr and focused mainly on Marine Isotope Stages (MIS) 1, 2, 3, 5.1, 5.3, 5.5, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 7.5. Following the restoration of natural conditions by reducing human pressures, reforestation is currently considered a possible option to accelerate the recovery of seagrass habitats. Long-term monitoring programs theoretically represent an ideal solution to assess whether a reforestation plan has produced the desired results. Here, we report on the performance of a 20 m2 patch of Posidonia oceanica transplanted on dead matte twelve years after transplantation in the Gulf of Palermo, northwestern Sicily.
