In this article the author explores the early development of the identity as a writer of a Finnish-speaking poet Lovisa (or Isa) Asp (1853–1872). She wrote her lyrics in the Finnish language in the 1870s, and she is regarded as the first 19th-century female Finnish poet (whose works were published in Finnish). She began writing poetry (initially in Swedish) as a teenager and started her literary career as a contributor to children’s magazines. Asp began her studies at the Teacher Training College in Jyväskylä in autumn 1871 with the aim of working as an elementary school teacher, but she also dreamt of becoming an established writer someday. This work can be placed on the borderline of literary history and the history of ideas. It aims to position the famous Hungarian poet of the early 20th century, Endre Ady, on the intellectual map of his age, and to point out his place within the relationships of literary modernity and intellectual-social progressivism; it describes the fixation, form and temporal change of the poet's unique position, and shows the human and intellectual consequences of this position, as it relates to a dispute which lasted for half a year, and only seemingly was of a literary nature. Runoilija Isa Asp (1853–1872) kuvasi ensimmäisen seminaarivuoden syyslukukaudella kirjoittamasssaan aineessa Jyväskylän kansakoulunopettajaseminaarissa, millaisen kirjaston hän haluaisi joskus tulevaisuudessa omaan kotiinsa. Tutkin artikkelissani Isa Aspin elämänvaiheita esimerkkinä käyttäen sitä, millaista kirjallisuutta 1850-luvulla syntyneellä runoilijanaisella oli käytettävissään. Suomessa luterilainen nimipäivien viettämisen tapa, joka oli omaksuttu säätyläispiireihin Ruotsista, alkoi levitä kaikkialle maahan 1800-luvun viimeisinä vuosikymmeninä. Nimipäiviin liittyi monenlaisia juhlaperinteitä, joita noudatettiin esimerkiksi Jyväskylän seminaarin kaltaisessa oppilaitoksessa, mistä ne kulkeutuivat edelleen opiskelijoiden mukana eri puolille Suomea. "I’m from exile”. This is how a poet, a cosmopolitan, and a citizen of the world of poetry Mohsen Emadi describes himself. He writes poems on loss and displacement, charting his experiences of mobility. This essay is based on Emadi’s poems and biographical interviews with the poet. Quotes from the interviews and fragments of his poems are combined with theoretical reflections on diaspora, nomadism, and exile by researchers such as Edward Said and Rogers Brubaker. This doctoral dissertation investigates the imagery of Sáminess in contemporary Sámi poetry. The research material of the study consists of poetry collections published in North Sámi and Norwegian by eight Sámi authors: Inger-Mari Aikio (previously Aikio-Arianaick), Inga Ravna Eira, Rawdna Carita Eira, Irene Larsen, Rauni Magga Lukkari, Hege Siri, Nils- Aslak Valkeapää, and Ellen Marie Vars.
