Artikkelissa tarkastellaan toimialojen reaalisten yksikkötyökustannusten, eli työn kannattavuuden, makro- ja mikrotekijöitä Suomen ja Ruotsin tehdasteollisuuden ja yksityisten palvelujen aloilla vuosina 1995–2014. Makrotekijöitä ovat työn tuottavuus, työn hinta ja arvonlisäyksen hinta. Mikrotekijöitä ovat jatkavissa yrityksissä tapahtunut muutos, jatkavien yritysten välillä tapahtunut työpaikkarakenteiden muutos sekä yritysten vaihtuvuus yritysten markkinoille tulon ja markkinoilta poistumisen välityksellä. AbstractPopulation ageing with an increasing number of people experiencing complex health and social care needs challenges health systems. We explore whether andhow health system reforms and policy measures adopted during the past two decades in Finland and Sweden reflect and address the needs of the older people. We discuss health system characteristics that are important to meet the care needs of older people and analyse how health policy agendas have highlighted these aspects in Finland and Sweden. Abstract This introductory article opens the thematic issue Spaces of Upset in the Nordic Region. It introduces the contributions of the issue, outlines the concepts that unite them, and discusses the sociolinguistic area in which they are set: the Nordic region. Centering on Denmark, Finland and Sweden, the article offers an overview of some of the sociolinguistic, ideological and political characteristics of the region and the countries it comprises. The Nordic region is widely seen as a paradigm case of social stability, consensus and cohesion. This vision is, however, a mirage. During the First World War, the legitimacy of established polities was challenged everywhere in Europe. Not only the combatant great powers but also smaller states witnessed a resurgence of constitutional disputes and competing ideological conceptualizations of revolution and reform, the will of the people, democracy, and parliamentarism.
