In previous research on the history of the Second World War in Finland and Norway, relations between the German and Austrian occupying forces and the Sami people have generally been considered to be good. For an Indigenous population, there is a need for an inclusive educational space from the language and culture srevitalisation perspective. This is especially important during the early years when the basics of the language are formed alongside cultural knowledge. This paper takes a closer look at a South Sami preschool language learning environment through the lenses of teachers. This doctoral dissertation investigates the imagery of Sáminess in contemporary Sámi poetry. The research material of the study consists of poetry collections published in North Sámi and Norwegian by eight Sámi authors: Inger-Mari Aikio (previously Aikio-Arianaick), Inga Ravna Eira, Rawdna Carita Eira, Irene Larsen, Rauni Magga Lukkari, Hege Siri, Nils- Aslak Valkeapää, and Ellen Marie Vars. The emphasis is on poetry published at the turn of the 2010s. The study examines how Sáminess has been depicted and constructed in poetry from the 1980s onwards. The aim of the study is to examine the Saami book history in the context of Finland in order to understand its evolution from 1820 to 1920. The study focuses on books and other printed materials in Saami language(s) (or idioms) and it looks into archival documents to throw light on their intellectual history. The Saami book history has unfolded slowly, and occasionally, it has appeared to fall into decline. The present study follows the French school of book history that uses multidisciplinary methods to examine books as a reflection of ideology in the context of a given culture at a given time. Tutkimusaiheeni oli inarinsaamelainen musiikkiperinne, livðe. Inarinsaamelaista musiikkiperinnettä on syytä tutkia, sillä se on vasta hiljattain pelastettu arkistojen kätköistä takaisin elävän perinteen piiriin. Livðe oli 2000- luvun alussa katoamassa kokonaan. Se on nyt inarinsaamen kielen tavoin saatu elpymään, mutta lienee yhä uhan alla kuten koko inarinsaamelainen kulttuuri. Seminaari saamen kielen elvyttämisestä

Helsingissä järjestettiin 13.9.2011 Saamen kielen ja maorin kielen elvyttäminen -seminaari, jossa käsiteltiin saamen kielen tilannetta Suomessa ja kuultiin onnistuneita kokemuksia maorikielen elvyttämisestä Uudessa-Seelannissa. Seminaari oli osa saamen kielen elvyttämisohjelmaa valmistelevan työryhmän työtä, ja siellä kuultiin puhujina Saamelaiskäräjien edustajia, asiantuntijoita, tutkijoita, poliitikkoja ja eri saamelaisjärjestöjen edustajia.
