A Nonlinear Control of Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRM) Based on Feedback Linearization Considering the Self and Cross-Saturation Effects

This paper proposes a nonlinear controller based on feedback linearization for Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRM) drives that takes into consideration the self and cross-saturation effects. Such control technique permits the dynamics of both the speed and flux loops to be maintained constant independently from the load and the saturation of the iron core. The proposed technique has been tested experimentally on a suitably developed test set-up.

International audience; Listeria monocytogenes is a food-borne pathogen responsible for the potentially fatal disease listeriosis and terrestrial ecosystems have been hypothesized to be its natural reservoir. Therefore, identifying the key edaphic factors that influence its survival in soil is critical. We measured the survival of L. monocytogenes in a set of 100 soil samples belonging to the French Soil Quality Monitoring Network. This soil collection is meant to be representative of the pedology and land use of the whole French territory. Abstract This work deals with an integrated geomorphological and chemical–physical study of “calanchi” landforms in two sites (Ottosalme and Catalfimo) of NW Sicily (southern Italy), developed on dominant silty-clay deposits. The calanchi fronts are characterized by different morphological features and dominant geomorphic processes. Sharp knife-edged ridges and concentrated water runoff dominate at Ottosalme, and smoother landforms affected by mass movements (mud flows and translational slides) prevail at Catalfimo. Evolution of fluctuations in the initial state of heavy-ion collisions from RHIC to LHC

Fluctuations in the initial state of heavy-ion collisions are larger at RHIC energy than at LHC energy. This fact can be inferred from recent measurements of the fluctuations of the particle multiplicities and of elliptic flow performed at the two different energies. We show that an analytical description of the initial energy-density field and its fluctuations motivated by the color glass condensate (CGC) effective theory predicts and quantitatively captures the measured energy evolution of these observables. The crucial feature is that fluctuations in the CGC scale like the inverse of the saturation scale of the nuclei.

The development of a thin stream above the soil surface (overland flow) is associated to two mechanism of runoff generation on the hillslope: the infiltration excess (hortonian flow) and saturation excess (dunnian flow) mechanism. Bottom-contact/bottom-gate organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) are fabricated using a soluble pentacene precursor (13,6-N-sulfinylacetamidopentacene; SAP) and inkjet printed PEDOT:PSS electrodes on bare SiO2 dielectrics. Saturation mobility, Ion/Ioff ratio, and threshold voltage parameters, respectively, of 0.27 cm2 V−1 s−1, 105, and −4.25 V were measured under ambient conditions after the thermal conversion of SAP to pentacene in 100 μm long channel OTFT devices. Microstructure characteristics of unsaturated compacted scaly clay are investigated by MIP tests on freeze dried samples and observation of SEM photomicrographs. Effects of scale microstructure and increasing compaction stresses, and microstructure changes induced by loading and unloading paths and clay saturation are analysed.
Feedback Linearizing Control of Induction Motor Considering Magnetic Saturation Effects

This paper presents an input-output feedback linearization (FL) control technique for rotating induction motors, which takes into consideration the magnetic saturation of the iron core. Starting from a new formulation of the dynamic model taking into consideration the magnetic saturation expressed in a space-state form in the rotor-flux-oriented reference frame, the corresponding FL technique has been developed.
