Constructive Dynamic Program Slicing Research
2010
Program slicing is a promising technique for providing automated support for various important software engineering activities. There exists hundreds of scientific studies on the theory of slicing. However, slicing is still not widely applied in software industry. Therefore, there is a need to survey and characterize the conducted research and to analyze what problems hinder progress. This paper answers to that need by providing a survey of constructive dynamic program slicing research focusing on publication series with high visibility. The survey identified 12 dynamic slicers related to which 12 aspects were studied. The analysis revealed many issues which can be seen both as concerns and…
Recent Nordic research in mathematics education illustrated by examples from NORMA17
2021
A characterization of recent Nordic research in didactics of mathematics is presented based on the 32 research reports from the Nordic and Baltic countries in the proceedings from NORMA17 (The eighth Nordic conference on didactics of mathematics). Recent Nordic research in didactics of mathematics is observed from several aspects such as choice of problem, theory, method, result, and target for the message. The analyses of the papers on different levels and from a manifold of perspectives build up an image of what Nordic research in DM (didactics of mathematics) contains and represents currently. The closeness and cooperation between researchers in the Nordic countries is characteristic as …
La universidad en el desarrollo de la cirugía torácica española
2005
The present article analyzes the figures of the university professors who, from 1911, formed part of one of the basic pillars in the development of "Spanish Thoracic Surgery". At that time, there was a certain amount of infighting between general and specialized surgery, which was resolved by allowing specialization after a period of training in general surgery. Universities should not be denied the great merit of having produced well-trained surgeons with a broad general foundation who would later choose a specialty. The figures of Ricardo Lozano Monzon, Francisco Martin Lagos, Jose Gasco, Benjamin Narbona, Carlos Carbonell Antoli, Rafael Vara Lopez, Alfonso de la Fuente Chaos and Jose M. …
Ancient Greece did not know the literary genre of the scientific essay because it is connected with institutions (like the University) and a (specialized) way of thinking that did not exist in that world.
Extraordinary rocks from the peak ring of the Chicxulub impact crater: P-wave velocity, density, and porosity measurements from IODP/ICDP Expedition …
2018
Joint International Ocean Discovery Program and International Continental Scientific Drilling Program Expedition 364 drilled into the peak ring of the Chicxulub impact crater. We present P-wave velocity, density, and porosity measurements from Hole M0077A that reveal unusual physical properties of the peak-ring rocks. Across the boundary between post-impact sedimentary rock and suevite (impact melt-bearing breccia) we measure a sharp decrease in velocity and density, and an increase in porosity. Velocity, density, and porosity values for the suevite are 2900–3700 m/s, 2.06–2.37 g/cm3, and 20–35%, respectively. The thin (25 m) impact melt rock unit below the suevite has velocity measurements…
Urban smart mobility in the scientific literature — bibliometric analysis
2018
Abstract This article aims at identification of the main trends in scientific literature characterising urban smart mobility, on the basis of bibliometric analysis of articles published in the ISI Web of Science and Scopus databases. The study period was set from 2000 to 2017. Authors used a basic technique of the bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature characterising urban smart mobility with the support of the VOSviewer software. The analysis included the number of publications, citation analysis, research area analysis and the most frequent keywords. The analysis led to taking notice of current research trends dealing with the urban smart mobility. The core of the paper is a t…
Analytical Approaches for the Evaluation of Food Protected Designation of Origin
2016
Abstract The state of the art analytical methodologies used to authenticate the origin and composition of foods will be presented in the frame of the protected designation of origin for European labels. The aforementioned labels guarantee the origin and good production practices in the elaboration of foods for human consumption. Target analytes and analytical procedures, together with the chemometric tools used to discriminate foods from different areas or production methods, will be presented and critically discussed. Examples of some of the most commonly evaluated foods in the scientific literature will be also included.

Trends in leisure time physical activity among young people in Finland, 1977—2007
2008
The decline in physical activity among young people has been discussed in the media during recent decades, although the scientific evidence for this has been scarce. The aim of this study was to investigate trends over 30 years in leisure time physical activity of Finnish boys and girls aged 12, 14, 16 and 18 years from 1977 to 2007. The data were obtained from the Finnish Adolescent Health and Lifestyle Survey. In the survey nationwide samples have been drawn every second year (number of respondents has varied from 2832 to 8390) since 1977. Leisure time physical activity was measured through questions concerning organized sport and unorganized leisure time physical activity. Participation…
