Gendered Work-life Ideologies among IT Professionals

The study investigates the discourses IT professionals use to produce work–life relations. We focus on work–life ideologies and explore the agencies produced, as well as whether and how they are gendered. Our data were collected in interviews with 24 women and men working in the IT industry in Finland. Our results show, first, that work–life relations were constructed discursively through two different work–life ideologies, and second, that these ideologies produced different gendered agencies in reconciling work with life. Przyjmując założenie o aktywnej roli języka w profilowaniu rzeczywistości danego dyskursu, w niniejszym artykule ukazano charakterystyczne praktyki dyskursywne stosowane powszechnie przez media wiązane z niemiecką Nową Prawicą w ich relacjonowaniu problematyki kryzysu migracyjnego oraz uchodźców. W oparciu o wybrane płaszczyzny modelu DIMEAN analizie poddane zostały internetowe wersje czasopisma „Junge Freiheit” oraz magazynu „Compact”.

Artykuł przedstawia wyniki analizy wybranych dyskursów prasowych dotyczących aktualnej problematyki uchodźczej. Celem artykułu jest znalezienie odpowiedzi na następujące pytania: 1) W jaki sposób problem uchodźców jest wyrażony językowo w wybranych zbiorach tekstów? 2) Jakie cechy charakterystyczne nadaje uchodźcom prasa i jak są oni oceniani? 3) Jakie różnice i podobieństwa można zaobserwować w opisie problematyki uchodźców w oparciu o wybrane zbiory tekstów?

The purpose of my study is to examine how female skiers are represented in the texts of a Finnish sports magazine, Urheilulehti, and how these representations have changed during the examination period from 1905 to 2010. Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin perhepäivähoito- ja päiväkoti-instituutioiden tuottamista varhaiskasvatuksesta vastaavien kunnallisten viranhaltijoiden puheessa. Tutkimus tehtiin kymmenessä suomalaisessa kunnassa, ja aineistona käytettiin teemahaastatteluja (N =42). Stabilise, balance and adjust : Framing the early years transitions of children whose parents work non‐standard hours

This study examined talk by parents about the early years transitions of their children (n = 7) in the context of parental non-standard working hours and Finnish early childhood education and care (ECEC) services. Parents were interviewed at three time points: when their child was aged one, four, five or six years (a total of 21 interviews). The third interview was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
