In the contemporary Polish Catholic discourse one can notice increased presence of figure of Satan and Biblical topos of his fight with God. The figure appears not only in strictly religious texts but also in discussion on up to date phenomenon of social life, such as abortion, in-vitro fertilization, homosexual partnerships and others. The article takes a diachronic look at feminatives in the Polish language from the sixteenth century to the present day. The authors recall the history of female forms in the language. Referring to pre-war journalism, discussions in the journal Poradnik Językowy [The Linguistic Guide] and the propaganda lexis of communist Poland, they prove that female forms are not foreign to the Polish language. They create a comprehensive list of reasons why feminatives have disappeared from Polish, taking account of both intra-linguistic and extra-linguistic factors.  Peliteollisuuden suosio on kasvanut viime vuosina. Koska ihmiset viettävät yhä enemmän aikaa pelien parissa, on aiheellista tutkia myös pelien maailmaa. Tähän asti tutkimuksien näkökulma on ollut se, miten pelaajat kommunikoivat keskenään ja miten pelit vaikuttavat pelaajien identiteetteihin. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkoituksena oli tarkkailla kielenkäytön ja sukupuolen suhdetta konsoliroolipelissä nimeltään Lost Odyssey. Erityinen kiinnostuksen kohde oli, miten sukupuoli luodaan diskurssin avulla kyseisessä pelissä. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa tarkkailtiin, vastasiko sukupuolien esittäminen todellisuutta. Modālo darbības vārdu un tiem pielīdzināmo vārdu un frāžū lietojums laikrasta rakstos var atklāt rakstnieka attieksmi un viedokli pret paziņotiem faktiem. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt modālo darbības vārduun tiem pielīdzināmo vārdu un frāžū lietojumu laikrakstā „The Guardian”. Metode, kas tika izmantota darbā ir kvantitatīvā un kvalitatīvā analīze. Praktiskā daļa ir balstīta uz 15 rakstu analīzi, kas bija ņemti no laikraksta “The Guardian”. Rezultāti parādīja, ka modālie darbības vārdi, kā arī citi pielīdznināmie vārdi, tiek bieži izmantoti, un tiem irdažādas nozīmes tekstā. This article discusses the three Finnish city names Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa, and the urban discourses that surround them. The study reveals patterns of socio-spatial differentiation by examining what meanings people attach to these capital region cities and investigating how these meanings are expressed in online discourses.
