Summary For food scientists and industrials, descriptive profiling is an essential tool that involves the evaluation of both the qualitative and quantitative sensory characteristics of a product by a panel. Abstract: Id1 promotes carcinogenesis and metastasis, and predicts prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)-adenocarcionoma patients. We hypothesized that Id1 may play a critical role in lung cancer colonization of the liver by affecting both tumor cells and the microenvironment. Depleted levels of Id1 in LLC (Lewis lung carcinoma cells, LLC shId1) significantly reduced cell proliferation and migration in vitro. Genetic loss of Id1 in the host tissue (Id1(-/-) mice) impaired liver colonization and increased survival of Id1 animals. Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) are a recently discovered family of innate lymphocytes that are substantially represented at mucosal surfaces and have been implicated in the protection of epithelial barriers. Various types of ILCs can be discriminated based on the expression of distinct transcription factors controlling the expression of a distinct set of cytokine genes endowing the various ILC subsets with a specific range of effector functions. The mucosal epithelium is in direct contact with symbiotic and pathogenic microorganisms. Therefore, the mucosal surface is the principal portal of entry for invading pathogens and immune cells accumulated in the intestine to prevent infections. Presentem dues noves inscripcions romanes trobades a Valentia en les excavacions realitzades a la ciutat. La primera fou recuperada en un solar del carrer Roc Chabàs situat al costat nord del fòrum de la colònia, és de caràcter votiu i està dedicada a la deessa Bellona, que hi apareix esmentada indubtablement per primera vegada a la província Tarraconense. La segona fou trobada al solar de l’Almoina, situat al costat est del fòrum, i és de caràcter sepulcral.

The Drosophila ACP65A cuticle gene: deletion scanning analysis of cis-regulatory sequences and regulation by DHR38

The sequences located between -594 and +161 are sufficient to confer both temporal and spatial expression specificities, indicating the presence of tissue-specific enhancers and response elements to hormone-induced factors. Supraspecific taxonomy of Palaearctic Platycleidini with unarmed prosternum: a morphological approach (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae, Tettigoniinae)

Authors analysed 33 supraspecific taxa of Palaearctic Platycleidini with unarmed prosternum, most of them hitherto considered genera or subgenera of Platycleis and Metrioptera. For each of them they give a short description of the characters revealing the correct classification of males and females. Then, they propose a more consistent classification, when both males and females of a supraspecific taxon are clearly distinct, they should be elevated to distinct genera. The regulation of expression of insect cuticle protein genes

International audience; The exoskeleton of insects (cuticle) is an assembly of chitin and cuticle proteins. Its physical properties are determined largely by the proteins it contains, and vary widely with developmental stages and body regions. The genes encoding cuticle proteins are therefore good models to study the molecular mechanisms of signalling by ecdysteroids and juvenile hormones, which regulate molting and metamorphosis in insects. This review summarizes the studies of hormonal regulation of insect cuticle protein genes, and the recent progress in the analysis of the regulatory sequences and transcription factors important for their expression.

Dinotrema cavernicola sp. n. (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Alysiinae), a new species of the genus Dinotrema Foerster from caves of Spain

Dinotrema cavernicola sp. n. was collected in two caves in Spain. This is the first Dinotrema species known to occur in caves. This new species is described and compared to D. affine (Fischer, 1973) and D. collybiae Munk &amp; Peris-Felipo, 2014, species sharing a mid-longitudinal carina on the propodeum.
