Holocene sea level change in Malta

A multidisciplinary approach has been applied to study sea level changes along the coast of Malta using data collected from underwater archaeological remains. The elevation of archaeological markers have been compared with predicted sea level curves providing new bodies of evidence that outline the vertical tectonic behaviour of this region, allowing estimation of the relative sea level changes that occurred in this area of the Mediterranean since the Bronze Age. During the Roman Age, sea level was at −1.36 ± 0.1 m, while in the Midde Age it was at −0.56 ± 0.2 m, in agreement with previous estimations for the Mediterranean region. Abstract Objective: To conduct a secondary analysis to study the effects, those 4 months of aquatic resistance training have on self‐assessed symptoms and quality of life in post‐menopausal women with mild knee osteoarthritis (OA), after the intervention and after a 12‐month follow‐up period. Methods: A total of 87 post‐menopausal volunteer women, aged 60‐68 years, with mild knee OA were recruited in a randomized, controlled, 4‐month aquatic training trial (RCT) and randomly assigned to an intervention (n = 43) and a control (n = 44) group. CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) opetusmenetelmässä oppilaiden vieraan kielen kehityksen on huomattu olevan nopeampaa kuin ei-CLIL oppilaiden. Vieraan kielen käyttö opetuksessa tarkoittaa, että vieras kieli ei ole oppimisen kohde vaan oppimisen väline. Oppilaat oppivat kieltä käyttämällä tätä kouluaineen opiskelussa. The wine slopes of Côte d'Or (Burgundy, France) are subject to the combined effects of runoff/erosion processes and intense cultivation practices. The purpose of this study is to characterize the erosion processes, and to quantify the sedimentary dynamics over different time scales and spatial scales. Sedimentary budgets show that the studied slopes, with grounds that are made very sensitive to the runoff phenomena by intensive mechanisation, are subject to erosion rates of several millimetres per year.
