Nelle pagine che seguono rinuncerò a seguire le sorti della felicità-parola, che si prolungano senza soluzione di continuità fino alla moderna musica di consumo, e mi limiterò a qualche osservazione sulla felicità-concetto attraverso l’esame – necessariamente sommario – di una coppia di opere della fine del XVIII secolo, selezionate tra le tante meritevoli d’attenzione: La clemenza di Tito di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1791) e Nina o sia La pazza per amore di Giovanni Paisiello (1789-1790).

Carbon Emissions Announcements and Market Returns

The paper investigates the impact of carbon emissions on stock price returns of European listed firms. This relationship is assessed across all three emissions scopes, as well as using expecta-tions to detect if future emissions impact contemporary returns. Our findings show that firms with higher expected future emissions deliver contemporary lower returns, after controlling for market capitalization, profit, and other known return predictors. This result is statistically sig-nificant in the post Paris Agreement period with a two to three years expectation on scope 2 emissions. However, there is marginal to no significant negative relationship between current emissions and current returns.…
Towards a fuzzy-linguistic based social network sentiment-expression system

Liking allows users of Social Networks, blogs and online magazines to express their support of posts and artifacts by a simple click. Such function is very popular but lacks semantic power, and some platforms have augmented it by allowing to choose a pictographic depiction corresponding to a feeling. What is gained in depth is lost in simplicity, and the wide acceptance liking has enjoyed did not carried to the sentiment version. We outline a sentiment-expression hybrid system based on textual analysis and linguistic fuzzy Markov chains overcoming the intrinsic limitations of liking without burdening the user with complex choices.

Abstract The dual aim of this research is, firstly, to analyze the physiological and unconscious emotional response of consumers to a new technological product and, secondly, link this emotional response to consumer conscious verbal reports of positive and negative product perceptions.
