Raunoloma longiceps(Linnavuori, 1977) (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cydnidae): First Record from Uganda

The present note reports the first Ugandan record of Raunoloma longiceps (Linnavuori, 1977), a rarely collected African burrower bug species (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cydnidae). This record increases the number of Cydnidae genera reported from Uganda to seven, with a total of 12 species. Cydnidae belong to the superfamily Pentatomoidea and are known by almost 700 species distributed in all zoogeographical regions of the world (Lis 1996, 1999, 2006; Lis & Lis 2014). Stipa klimesii (Poaceae), a new species from Western Himalayas (India)

Stipa klimesii sp. nov. from the Western Himalayas (India: Ladakh) and its variety S. klimesii var. pubescens var. nov. are described. The new species is similar to S. roborowskyi but differs by its longer anthecium, longer ligules of vegetative shoots, longer hairs on seta and shorter awns. Stipa klimesii is also similar to S. purpurea, but differs by longer ligules of vegetative shoots, shorter awns, slightly shorter hairs on seta and by the character of the panicle, which is compressed and with straight branches in S. klimesii vs. lax and with flexuous branches in S. purpurea. The typification of the name Cenchrus setaceus (Forsskål) Morrone (Poaceae) is discussed, and a lectotype is designated. Cenchrus setaceus is native to northeastern Africa, and cultivated as an ornamental plant in some parts of the world. It is an invasive species in a wide range of natural habitats worldwide, competing strongly with the native flora.

Objectives To investigate the effects of combined hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and its effective agents on the IGF-1 signaling pathway. Design and methods To examine the effects of HRT on skeletal muscle in vivo, we utilized pre- and post-intervention samples from a randomized double blinded trial with 50–57-year-old women.
