Too much? Excessive sexual experiences in bisexual women’s life stories

This article explores bisexual women’s sexual experiences at the edges of or between relationships. It draws on the follow-up interviews of a longitudinal interview set conducted in 2005 and 2014–2015 with bisexual women and their partners, who do not identify as bisexuals. Bisexual women’s spontaneous, detailed and affective narrations of sexual experiences in the follow-up interviews caught the author’s attention. Although the experiences were often narrated as pleasurable, they could be overwhelming, and women also expressed concern that they were excessive, “too much”. This study examined the associations of work schedules and spousal satisfaction among Finnish (n = 347), Dutch (n = 304) and British (n = 337) parents. In addition to comparing parents with nonstandard schedule with parents in regular day work, the study examined separately the roles played in spousal satisfaction of morning, evening, night and weekend work and other working time-related variables (working hours, changes in and influence over one’s work schedules and spouse’s work schedule). W tym zakresie stwierdzono pewną niepełność w aktualnej regulacji, identyfikując ją oraz podając rozwiązanie w postaci propozycji, tj. znowelizowania art. 200 k.k. przez dodanie do niego § 2, który opisywałby to przestępstwo w ramach quasi-typu uprzywilejowanego jako wypadek mniejszej wagi. Though the proclivity of sexual-related harassments in African journalism is high, the rates of reporting of these incidences and empirical studies are low. Using a gendered approach, the study presents and exploratory inquiry into the lived experiences and impressions of Ghanaian female journalists about incidences of sexual harassments. The paper suggests the advent of a new type of character in a popular genre of American high school films, namely a precocious and sexually assertive young woman. Such characters are usually highly intelligent and manipulative women who seduce unsuspecting male partners, often their teachers, for emotional or practical gain. Although their actions may appear morally wrong, they are of ten depicted in a positive light. The analysis is based on a selection of films considered to be symptomatic of the larger tendencies. Kansainvälisten tutkimusten pohjalta tiedämme, että yleisesti ottaen naiset joutuvat miehiä enemmän häirityiksi urheilu- ja liikuntasektorilla. Tutkimukset ovat pääsääntöisesti kohdistuneet tyttöihin ja naisiin. Ainoastaan muutamat tutkimukset ovat tarkastelleet urheilua ja liikuntaa harrastavien miesten kokemuksia seksuaalisesta häirinnästä. Harrasteliikunnan ja kilpaurheilun puolella sukupuoleen perustuvan ja seksuaalisen häirinnän tutkimus on Suomessa vasta alkutaipaleella. Sosiaalisessa mediassa urheilijoihin yhä enenevissä määrin kohdistuva virtuaalinen seksuaalinen häirintä on viime aikoina huolestuttanut tutkijoita. nonPeerReviewed
