Dynamic Coalitional TU Games: Distributed Bargaining among Players' Neighbors

We consider a sequence of transferable utility (TU) games where, at each time, the characteristic function is a random vector with realizations restricted to some set of values. The game differs from other ones in the literature on dynamic, stochastic or interval valued TU games as it combines dynamics of the game with an allocation protocol for the players that dynamically interact with each other. The protocol is an iterative and decentralized algorithm that offers a paradigmatic mathematical description of negotiation and bargaining processes. We are pleased to present this special issue. This volume reflects an increasing interest in the analysis of qualitative behavior of solutions to differential equations, difference equations, and dynamic equations on time scales. Numerous applications arising in the engineering and natural sciences call for the development of new efficient methods and for the modification and refinement of known techniques that should be adjusted for the analysis of new classes of problems. The twofold goal of this special issue is to reflect both the state-of-the-art theoretical research and important recent advances in the solution of applied problems.

[EN] A novel approach that may potentially be used to study biomolecular interactions including the simultaneous determination of structural and kinetic binding parameters is described in this Article for the first time. It allows a rigid distinction between the possible reaction mechanisms of biomolecular recognition, induced fit and conformational selection. The relative importance of the two pathways is determined not by comparing rate constants but the structural aspects of the interaction instead. To investigate the feasibility and tolerance in the use of adjuvant intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and simultaneous integrated boost in patients with a diagnosis of breast cancer after breast-conserving surgery.Between September 2011 to February 2013, 112 women with a diagnosis of early breast cancer (T1-2, N0-1, M0) were treated with IMRT and simultaneous integrated boost after breast-conserving surgery in our institution. There are three methods for solving the integral equations for the three-body problem with local two-body potentials; one method consists of the direct solution of the Faddeev equations, and the other two methods make different use of the quasiparticle idea that is based on the splitting of the occurring two-body potentials into a sum of separable terms and a rest potential. Optimal β-beam at the CERN-SPS

In this talk, based on the work [J. Burguet-Castell et al., Nucl. Phys. B 725 (2005) 306], we present an analysis of the sensitivity to the mixing angle θ 13 and the CP-violating phase δ that could be achieved by a β-beam experiment based at the SPS accelerator at CERN. We estimate the optimal γ boost of the 6He and 18Ne ions for the proposed baseline CERN-Frejus (130 km), and also perform a simultaneous optimization of the ion boost and the baseline. A possible improvement of the current SPS accelerator is considered as well.
