On a limiting distribution of singular values of random band matrices

An equation is obtained for the Stieltjes transform of the normalized dis- tribution of singular values of non-symmetric band random matrices in the limit when the band width and rank of the matrix simultaneously tend to infinity. Conditions under which this limit agrees with the quarter-circle law are found. An interesting particular case of lower triangular random matri- ces is also considered and certain properties of the corresponding limiting singular value distribution are given.

Voisinages tubulaires épointés et homotopie stable à l'infini

We initiate a study of punctured tubular neighborhoods and homotopy theory at infinity in motivic settings. We use the six functors formalism to give an intrinsic definition of the stable motivic homotopy type at infinity of an algebraic variety. Our main computational tools include cdh-descent for normal crossing divisors, Euler classes, Gysin maps, and homotopy purity. Under-adic realization, the motive at infinity recovers a formula for vanishing cycles due to Rapoport-Zink; similar results hold for Steenbrink's limiting Hodge structures and Wildeshaus' boundary motives. Two examples related to conical energies

In a recent article we introduced and studied conical energies. We used them to prove three results: a characterization of rectifiable measures, a characterization of sets with big pieces of Lipschitz graphs, and a sufficient condition for boundedness of nice singular integral operators. In this note we give two examples related to sharpness of these results. One of them is due to Joyce and M\"{o}rters, the other is new and could be of independent interest as an example of a relatively ugly set containing big pieces of Lipschitz graphs.

Recognition of Cardiac Arrhythmia by Means of Beat Clustering on ECG-Holter Recordings

The follow-up of some cardiac diseases may be achieved by ECG-holter record analysis. A heartbeat clustering method can be used to reduce the usually high computational cost of such Holter analysis. This study describes a method aimed at cardiac arrhythmia recognition based on this approach, by means of unsupervised inspection of morphologically similar heartbeat groups. Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is used as the feature selection method since the complexity increases exponentially with the number of features. Dynamical Hadrons: Case Studies of Meson-Meson and Meson-Baryon Molecules and Triangle Singularities

In this thesis we use various methods to study the interaction of hadrons. We focus on topics related to exotic hadrons, such as tetraquarks from meson-meson interaction, pentaquarks from meson-baryon, and also triangular singularities. We show how experimental data can be explained with our theoretical models, and make predictions that can be compared with future experiments. The Calderón problem for the fractional Schrödinger equation with drift

We investigate the Calder\'on problem for the fractional Schr\"odinger equation with drift, proving that the unknown drift and potential in a bounded domain can be determined simultaneously and uniquely by an infinite number of exterior measurements. In particular, in contrast to its local analogue, this nonlocal problem does \emph{not} enjoy a gauge invariance. The uniqueness result is complemented by an associated logarithmic stability estimate under suitable apriori assumptions. Also uniqueness under finitely many \emph{generic} measurements is discussed.
