Efficient mesoscale hydrodynamics: Multiparticle collision dynamics with massively parallel GPU acceleration

Abstract We present an efficient open-source implementation of the multiparticle collision dynamics (MPCD) algorithm that scales to run on hundreds of graphics processing units (GPUs). We especially focus on optimizations for modern GPU architectures and communication patterns between multiple GPUs. We show that a mixed-precision computing model can improve performance compared to a fully double-precision model while still providing good numerical accuracy. We report weak and strong scaling benchmarks of a reference MPCD solvent and a benchmark of a polymer solution with research-relevant interactions and system size. Resumen: El proposito de este trabajo es presentar una propuesta de tratamiento cognitivo-conductual para la intervencion en la adiccion a videojuegos. Se presenta el caso de un varon de 21 anos con problemas con el uso de los videojuegos. Se expone el procedimiento en cada una de las fases de las que consta el tratamiento, asi como los resultados de su eficacia en un estudio de caso. Despues de trece semanas de intervencion se aprecian importantes cambios en el nivel de dependencia. Los resultados muestran una disminucion significativa del tiempo de uso del ordenador y de juego, asi como una mejoria del funcionamiento personal y social del paciente. Globally, there is substantial concern regarding the challenges of treating complex drug resistance patterns in multidrug resistant tuberculosis cases. Utilising data from three different settings (Estonia, Latvia, Romania) we sought to contrast drug susceptibility profiles for multidrug resistant tuberculosis cases, highlight the difficulties in designing universal regimen, and inform future regimen selection. Demographic and microbiological surveillance data for multidrug resistant tuberculosis cases from 2004-13 were analysed. Double copies of blaKPC-3::Tn4401a on an IncX3 plasmid in Klebsiella pneumoniae successful clone ST512 from Italy

ABSTRACT A carbapenem-resistant sequence type 512 (ST512) Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase 3 (KPC-3)-producing K. pneumoniae strain showing a novel variant plasmid content was isolated in Palermo, Italy, in 2014. ST512 is a worldwide successful clone associated with the spread of bla KPC genes located on the IncFIIk pKpQIL plasmid. In our ST512 strain, the bla KPC-3 gene was unusually located on an IncX3 plasmid, whose complete sequence was determined. Two copies of bla KPC-3 ::Tn 4401a caused by intramolecular transposition events were detected in the plasmid.
