The Smart Land Paradigm in the Sicani Territorial Archipelago
2017
With the aim to identify the specific identities of the Sicani territory, to interpret them in a perspective of innovative development and to define strategies capable of intercepting programming in progress, it has been deepened the “territorial archipelago” theoretical framework , recognizing it into the Sicani territory and trying to use it as the base of a possible development of a Smart Land, as a “non-gravitational” paradigm able to recognize and to direct the new relations of the rur-urban local systems.
PQ and Harmonic Assessment Issues on Low-Cost Smart Metering Platforms: A Case Study
2020
This paper presents a feasibility study on how to implement power quality (PQ) metrics in a low-cost smart metering platform. The study is aimed at verifying the possibility of implementing PQ monitoring in distribution networks without replacing existing smart metering devices or adding new modules for PQ measurements, thus zeroing the installation costs. To this aim, an electronic board, currently used for remote energy metering, was chosen as a case study, specifically the STCOMET platform. Starting from the specifications of this device, the possibility of implementing power quality metrics is investigated in order to verify if compliance with standard requirements for PQ instruments ca…
La smart mobility come fattore chiave verso una smart city. Alcune esperienze europee
2013
The study and the analysis of some fruitful experiences in Europe we find that the smart mobility is one of the central pillars for initiating processes and best practices sensitive to environmental issues and sustainable development. The city of Stockholm has called his plan sustainable precisely “The Walkable City” meaning that achieve a planning instrument that brings the city to be crossed easily by bicycle, on foot, but also with public transport efficient and low impact on the climate. For this reason the city has the goal of being fossil fuel free by 2050. Freiburg, however, with the urban district of Vauban is definitely an inno- vative model focuses on the use of sustainable public…
Smart Technology for the passive house
2013
Planning for sustainable policies aimed at identifying Smart urban spaces is determined by the parameters of Smart Cities model that encourage the production of intelligent building for construction energy efficient. The proposed article analyzes the effectiveness of the passive house in the Mediterranean area, offered by traditional building techniques, proposing a re-reading technology for the detection of a smart design methodology that can lead to the use of technologies with high energy efficiency.

Smart Logistics and Customer Orientation
2017
In this article one can find aspects of implementation of orientation to cu - stomer in smart logistics. The definition of logistics and intelligent technologies has been described and related to main indicators of orientation to customer. Connections between indicators of orientation to customers (which include distance, elasticity and orders management) have been pointed out.
In Italia, così…
Building Resilient Smart Cities for Sustainable Urban Tourism in Africa Post-COVID-19 Pandemic
2022
AbstractThis paper contributes to the knowledge by examining the role of smart tourism technologies in destination resilience amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering tourism in the COVID-19 crisis as an emerging stream of research, the study also explores how African cities deployed smart tourism technologies and how effective it has been in creating resilient and safe destinations. Data were collected through a semi-structured online interview from destination managers in Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. The findings pose critical lessons for city destinations and how they need to transition into smartness to create safe spaces for travellers during and post-COVID-19. Our study makes nove…
