Discorso, interazione, identità. Studiare il parlato attraverso i parlanti.

2013

2015

This paper studies the linguistic variability in Italian music songs from a sociola point of view, a new research approach with only few studis in the current bibliography. The social factors of linguistic variation will be called into question to discuss the meaning of "folk song", a rather complex notion. First of all, we shall remark that many recent studies on songs use the term 'opular' with a quite different meaning rather than the meaning used in Italian linguistics. The variationist approach allows us to define the meaning of "folk song", because it shoes the close relationship between linguistic features and the social world represented in folk songs. In this perspective, we shall …

2020

In this article I discuss some interactional aspects regarding the relation between the participants in the sociolinguistic interview. In particular, I show how interviewers and interviewees work together in order to co-construct the (socio)linguistic data. In this perspective, I analyse the ways in which the participants make observable to each other their interactional roles through the interview. Moreover, I focus on the relation between the individuals taking part in the interview and the invisible, yet influential members of the research group. I show how the latter may affect the interactional moves of the former, but also how participants account for the research group’s role. The an…

Determinant factors in the expression of the pronominal subject in spoken Spanish of Valencia

2021

Identity Processing Orientation, Cognitive and Behavioural Strategies and Well-being

1997

The aim of this study was to investigate interrelationships among the identity negotiation styles that people use, the cognitive and behavioural strategies they deploy, and their sense of subjective well-being. To examine this, 198 American and 109 Finnish college students completed the Identity Style Inventory, the Strategy and Attribution Questionnaire, Rosenberg’s Self-esteem Scale, and the revised Beck’s Depression Inventory. Results showed that people with an information-oriented identity style reported the highest level of self-esteem, those with a normative style had the most stable self-conceptions, and those with a diffuse/avoidant style displayed the highest level of depressive s…

Rational-experiential thinking style and rational intergroup cooperation: the moderating role of intergroup conflict / Estilos de pensamiento raciona…

2016

AbstractCooperative relationships between groups are difficult because of the high human capability to differentiate between in-group vs. out-group members. This obstacle exists even when the groups can obtain benefits for themselves from cooperation with other groups (rational cooperation). Based on an interactionist approach, the authors propose that personal (individual differences) and situational (conflicts) factors contribute to rational intergroup cooperation. The authors conducted a preliminary correlational study (Study 1) and an experimental investigation (Study 2). In Study 1, the authors examined, with 105 participants, the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the R…

Effects of teacher's individualized support on children's reading skills and interest in classrooms with different teaching styles

2016

Abstract The purpose of the study was to examine whether teacher's individualized support affects students' reading skills and interest in classrooms with different teaching styles. Groups of teachers with child-centered, mixed child-centered/teacher-directed, and child-dominated teaching styles were differentiated based on observed teaching practices. The participants were 552 children (273 boys) and their 21 homeroom teachers. Teaching practices were assessed in Grade 1, teacher individualized support and students' reading skills and interest in reading were assessed twice - at the end of Grades 1 and 2.The results showed that relations between individualized support and students' later r…
