A multiple-response chi-square framework for the analysis of Free-Comment and Check-All-That-Apply data

International audience; Free-Comment (FC) and Check-All-That-Apply (CATA) provide a contingency table containing citation counts of descriptors by products. The analyses performed on this table are most often related to the chi-square statistic. However, such practices are not well suited because they consider experimental units as being the citations (one descriptor for one product by one subject) while the evaluations (vector of citations for one product by one subject) should be considered instead. TRANS-FUSIMO – A novel system for treatment support for FUS applications in moving abdominal organs

Computer based treatemnt support for FUS therapy of moviving abdominal organs is essential due to great intrinsic challenges: the target moves due to breathing and may be occluded by the rib cage. In the EU project TRANS-FUSIMO we have developed a sophisticated software system that connects to a FUS transducer and an MRI. This enables physicians to conduct safe, effective and efficient ablation of tumors in the moving liver.
Soft tissue integration of different abutment surfaces: An experimental study with histological analysis

OBJECTIVE To evaluate whether abutment surface and surface bio-activation have an effect on soft tissue morphogenesis. MATERIALS AND METHODS 36 patients (36 implants) were included. Abutments were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 9): Smooth Surface-MAChined (MAC), Ultrathin Threaded Microsurface (UTM), MAC Plasma of Argon activated (Plasma-MAC), and UTM Plasma of Argon activated (Plasma-UTM). After 2 months of healing, soft tissue samples were collected and prepared for histological analysis. Geostatistical computing of acoustic maps in the presence of barriers

Acoustic maps are the main diagnostic tools used by authorities for addressing the growing problem of urban acoustic contamination. Geostatistics models phenomena with spatial variation, but restricted to homogeneous prediction regions. The presence of barriers such as buildings introduces discontinuities in prediction areas. In this paper we investigate how to incorporate information of a geographical nature into the process of geostatistical prediction. In addition, we study the use of a Cost-Based distance to quantify the correlation between locations.
