Conservation resource allocation involves a complex set of considerations including species, habitats, connectivity, local to global biodiversity objectives, alternative protection and restoration actions, while requiring cost-efficiency and effective implementation. This article examines adult L2 Finnish learners’ perceptions of listening difficulties and compensatory strategies in everyday situations. The data consist of questionnaire answers (N = 202) and five semi-structured interviews. The answers were grouped according to the reasons why listening difficulties were experienced. The number of times each reason was mentioned was calculated in order to find out to what extent the reasons were shared by the group. The interviews were used as a complementary resource for analysing the questionnaire answers. Visual understanding of divergence and curl: Visual cues promote better learning

Prior research has shown that students struggle to indicate whether vector field plots have zero or non-zero curl or divergence. In an instruction-based eye-tracking study, we investigated whether visual cues (VC) provided in the vector field plot can foster students’ understanding of these concepts. The VC were only present during instruction and highlighted conceptual information about vector decomposition and partial derivatives. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää aivojen automaattisen muutoksen havaitsemisjärjestelmän toimintaa visuaalisessa järjestelmässä tapahtumasidonnaisten herätevasteiden (ERP) avulla. Lisäksi tutkielmassa haluttiin selvittää ikääntymisen mahdollisia vaikutuksia tämän järjestelmän toimintaan vertailemalla toisiinsa terveiden nuorten aikuisten (n=19, 22-27 vuotta) ja ikääntyneiden (n=10, 69-95 vuotta) visuaalisia herätevasteita N2- ja P3 -komponenteissa. In this study, static visual displays of titration created by the university-level pre-service chemistry education students was investigated. The aim for the students was to learn the theory of titrations, using self-prepared cartoon strips with supportive texts. The blue pill is a malicious stealthy hypervisor-based rootkit. The red pill is a software package that is designed to detect such blue pills. Since the blue pill was originally proposed there has been an ongoing arms race between developers that try to develop stealthy hypervisors and developers that try to detect such stealthy hypervisors. Furthermore, hardware advances have made several stealth attempts impossible while other advances enable even more stealthy operation.
