Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää yläkouluikäisten somalitaustaisten poikien kokemuksia koululiikunnasta ja koulusta. Tavoitteena oli saada tietoa siitä, miten somalitaustaisia oppilaita voidaan huomioida koululiikunnassa paremmin. Somalitaustaisten oppilaiden kokemusten pe-rusteella tutkimuksessa pyritään saamaan tietoa koululiikunnan ja koulun mielekkyydestä sekä siitä, miten liikuntatunneista voisi tehdä viihtyisämpiä oppilaille. In an attempt to identify susceptibility loci for bipolar affective disorder, we are currently conducting a systematic genome screen with highly polymorphic microsatellite markers at an average marker spacing of 10 cM in a series of 75 families, comprising 66 families from Germany, eight families from Israel, and one family from Italy. The families were ascertained through index cases with bipolar affective disorder. Tarkastelen tutkielmassani asioimistulkin työtä somalinaistulkkien näkökulmasta ja tuon esille heidän omia näkemyksiään työstään kahden kielen ja kulttuurin välissä, joka samalla avaa erilaisia näkymiä suomalaiseen monikulttuuriseen yhteiskuntaan ja sen arkeen. Selvitän, mistä lähtökohdista ja miten naiset ovat päätyneet harjoittamaan tulkin työtä, mistä tulkin arki koostuu ja mitä merkityksiä he työlleen antavat. Asioimistulkin ammatin ollessa Suomessa suhteellisen uusi, esittelen myös asioimistulkkauksen kehitystä ja ammatillistumista.
