Dynamic of Components Leachate from Experimental Fertilizers in Leaching Test
2018
Organic matter contained in the waste of food industry or occurring in the households, in the absence of contamination with other kind of waste, may be used to create a “fertiliser”, which could be even reused in the organic production of arable crops. Particular attention is drawn to the fertilisers which may be applied in the case of amateur cultivation of pot plants and in the allotment gardens. The paper presents the results of research regarding the dynamics of the release of nutrients from tablets created with the help of encapsulation of the mixture manufactured from solvent extraction waste of coffee (SCG), modified by the ash obtained from low temperature burning of biomass. In thi…
Acute toxicity of experimental fertilizers made of blood meal, spent coffee ground and biomass ash
2017
2016
Sustainable fertilization is one of the most important treatments of modern agriculture. Organic agriculture with new demands on agricultural practice, seeks to restrict the use of mineral fertilizers in favor of slow-action organic fertilizers. The fertilizers which are made on the farm are particularly valuable due to their quality and the absence of costs of purchase and transport. From this point of view, the new possibilities of using an organic matter which comes from waste of the food industry or biodegradable wastes from households proves to be interesting. Due to the absence of contamination with other types of waste, it can be used for the production of a fertilizer which could be…
Novel green bio-composite geopolymeric thermo-plasters for innovative building applications: upcycling spent coffee ground
2022
This study proposes the reuse of spent coffee ground and biomass fly ash in the development of green geopolymeric thermo-plastering for innovative building applications. The former waste is the major residue of the brewing process, that is usually used as fertilisers or disposed of in landfill with extreme harmfulness for the natural environment. The latter is an industrial waste generated during the Kraft paper-pulp process, that is usually landfilled. The mortar is produced with a combination of metakaolin (30 wt.%) and biomass fly ash (70 wt.%), and natural siliceous sand filled with spent coffee ground (up to 17.5 wt.%). The high amount of reused waste makes the material an optimum cand…
