Modeling and field-experiments identification of vertical dynamics of vehicle with active anti-roll bar

This paper deals with modeling and identification of vertical dynamics of the ground vehicle equipped with two active anti-roll torsion bars. A series of field tests of a full-scale drive have been performed, from which multiple displacement and acceleration data of the unsprung and sprung masses have been collected for each vehicle corner. Abstract We consider a class of kinetic models for polymeric fluids motivated by the Peterlin dumbbell theories for dilute polymer solutions with a nonlinear spring law for an infinitely extensible spring. The polymer molecules are suspended in an incompressible viscous Newtonian fluid confined to a bounded domain in two or three space dimensions. The unsteady motion of the solvent is described by the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations with the elastic extra stress tensor appearing as a forcing term in the momentum equation. Modeling and Analysis of Flexible Bodies Using Lumped Parameter Method

The modeling, identification and analysis of a flexible beam is presented. The lumped parameter method is used to model a flexible beam. The use of camera measurements to identify lumped parameters, namely spring stiffness and damping coefficient, is described. The measurements of the tip oscillations using a high-speed camera and high-precision laser tracker are compared. The static and dynamic behavior of the flexible beam model is compared to the experimental results to show the validity of the model.

The experimental model emulates a one-floor building supported on four leaf springs, subjected to band limited random excitation. In this paper, electrical analogous models of fractional hereditary materials are introduced. Based on recent works by the authors, mechanical models of materials viscoelasticity behavior are firstly approached by using fractional mathematical operators. Viscoelastic models have elastic and viscous components which are obtained by combining springs and dashpots. The ground acceleration is usually modeled as a filtered Gaussian process. The most common model is a Tajimi–Kanai (TK) filter that is a viscoelastic Kelvin–Voigt unit (a spring in parallel with a dashpot) carrying a mass excited by a white noise (acceleration at the bedrock). Exact non-Hookean scaling of cylindrically bent elastic sheets and the large-amplitude pendulum

A sheet of elastic foil rolled into a cylinder and deformed between two parallel plates acts as a non-Hookean spring if deformed normally to the axis. For large deformations the elastic force shows an interesting inverse squares dependence on the interplate distance [Siber and Buljan, arXiv:1007.4699 (2010)]. The phenomenon has been used as a basis for an experimental problem at the 41st International Physics Olympiad. We show that the corresponding variational problem for the equilibrium energy of the deformed cylinder is equivalent to a minimum action description of a simple gravitational pendulum with an amplitude of 90 degrees.
