Monte Carlo simulation of many-arm star polymers in two-dimensional good solvents in the bulk and at a surface

A Monte Carlo technique is proposed for the simulation of statistical properties of many-arm star polymers on lattices. In this vectorizing algorithm, the length of each arml is increased by one, step by step, from a starting configuration withl=1 orl=2 which is generated directly. This procedure is carried out for a large sample (e.g., 100,000 configurations). As an application, we have studied self-avoiding stars on the square lattice with arm lengths up tol max=125 and up tof=20 arms, both in the bulk and in the geometry where the center of the star is adsorbed on a repulsive surface. Abstract A novel heterotetranuclear chromium(III)–copper(II) complex of formula {[CrIII(bpy)(ox)2]2CuII2(bpy)2(ox)}·6H2O (1) has been synthesized by the ligand exchange reaction between Ph4P[CrIII(bpy)(ox)2]·H2O and [CuII(bpy)2(NO3)]NO3·MeOH in methanol (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine; ox2− = oxalate dianion). The SKA will be operational at the same time than other new optical, X-ray and Gamma-ray telescopes. The present work describes the implementation of active IR Thermography techniques for the NDT of thick polymer and glass-fibre reinforced polymer (GRP) composite panels. A low cost Thermal NDT set-up is proposed, comprising a single-detector IR camera with low thermal resolution and low frame rate, and common low-power halogen lamps as external heat source devices. The use of halogen lamps in particular requires several seconds of switch-on time in order to deliver meaningful and effective heat quantities. Abstract This paper deals with off-line parameter identification of induction motors by means of least square (LS) techniques and genetic algorithms (GA), using stator voltages, stator currents and velocity as input–output data. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the antecedents of word-of-mouth (WOM) in long-term service settings. Specifically, the authors examine the moderating role of action inertia in the relationships between satisfaction and repatronage intention, satisfaction and WOM, and repatronage intention and WOM.
